DEXT CHART new feature requests

@Dhan @PravinJ

Sir,

I have explored the new released “DEXT CHART” on Dext platform and sharing bugs and new feature requests.

1- Color fill opacity option is not working in Price range tool even set at 0% so it hide candle body area, also provide the “Right extend” option in this tool.

image

2- In “Exponential moving average” we request a feature of calculation input same like in Trading view ( by giving input timeframe user can see the EMA at other timeframe chart) like I want to see daily ema on lower time frame

image

Please see that option in tradingview as below screenshot

image

3- Please provide “color flagging in watchlist” or provide a comment section in watchlist so that user can categorize the stocks based on analysis.

image

4- Please provide “add to watchlist” option in right click of chart to add stock in watchlist directly from chart.

image

Kindly fix the above issues and implement the feature requests.

Thanks,
Yogesh Singh

Hi @PravinJ

I observed few UI issues :

Theme and Layout Saving Bug: I am using the Dext Prime theme and manually changing the DEXT Chart background color from black to white and saving it. However, after a page refresh, the background reverts to black.

Additionally, the background colors for the limit order, SL, and TP lines, as well as the symbol text color, do not update to match the light theme. This functionality works perfectly fine on the standard Chart widget. I have attached screenshots of both charts for your reference to highlight the discrepancy.

The ‘No overlapping labels’ setting works correctly for the standard Chart widget, but it fails to apply under Scales and Lines for the Dext Chart widget.

image

****Crosshair coordinate selection works correctly in the standard Chart widget, but it incorrectly selects one of the line in the Dext widget when placed equidistant between two horizontal lines

Comparison of Behavior

Chart Widget: Placing the crosshair midway between two lines (such as 28050 between 28000 and 28100) correctly selects none of the lines.

Dext Widget: Placing the crosshair midway at the same coordinate (28050) after zooming out incorrectly snaps to and selects one the line.

Even though the Chart widget is zoomed out further than the Dext widget, it still functions correctly, whereas the Dext chart widget fails to handle coordinate selection properly under less zoom

Text labels do not render on horizontal lines within the DEXT Chart widget, though they display correctly in the standard chart widget.

Hi @PravinJ

In addition to the previous issues, I have spotted a few more items for your review. Please let me know if you need any further clarification or details on the points below.

Issue 1: Inconsistent Lock Protection on Dext Chart Widget

  • Current Behaviour (Standard Chart): When a drawing (e.g., horizontal line or ray) is locked, attempting to delete it triggers a confirmation popup warning the user that the drawing is locked. This successfully prevents accidental deletions.
  • Observed Behaviour (Dext Chart): Following the same process on the Dext Chart widget allows the locked drawing to be deleted instantly without any confirmation popup.
  • Expected Behaviour: The Dext Chart widget should mirror the standard Chart widget by displaying a confirmation popup before deleting any locked drawing.

image

Issue 2: Chart Navigation Frozen When Selecting Locked Drawings on Dext Chart

  • Current Behaviour (Standard Chart): If a user selects a locked drawing and holds down the mouse click, they can still drag and move the chart canvas freely to view historical data.
  • Observed Behaviour (Dext Chart): On the Dext Chart, selecting a locked drawing and holding the click freezes the canvas entirely, preventing the user from moving or scrolling through the chart. This significantly hinders analysis, especially when a chart contains numerous overlapping drawings.
  • Expected Behaviour: Canvas dragging/navigation should remain active on the Dext Chart even when a locked drawing is selected, allowing smooth navigation through historical data.

Issue 3: Feature Request – Widget Deletion Confirmation Popup

  • Problem: The widget close/cross button is easily clicked by mistake when switching between narrow tabs (e.g., moving between the Chart widget and the Option Chain widget). For scalpers with active, running trades, accidentally deleting the Chart widget poses a high operational risk.
  • Proposed Solution: Introduce a confirmation popup modal when a user clicks the “cross” to delete a widget, ensuring critical layouts aren’t lost accidentally during fast-paced trading.

Issue 4: Feature Request – Add “Refresh” Option to Dext Chart

  • Problem: The Dext Chart widget currently lacks a manual refresh capability.
  • Proposed Solution: Add a “Refresh” option to the Dext Chart widget to match the existing functionality found in the standard Chart widget.

Issue 5: Drawings vanish immediately after placement on Dext Chart

  • Observed Behaviour: When drawing an element (e.g., a horizontal ray or line) on the Dext Chart, the drawing immediately vanishes as soon as the user clicks anywhere else on the canvas. The drawing only reappears once the user scrolls the mouse to zoom or move the chart.
  • Impact: Critical glitch. It breaks the visual continuity of analysis and forces unnecessary user interaction to make drawings visible.
  • Expected Behaviour: Once a line or ray is drawn, it should remain permanently visible on the canvas regardless of subsequent clicks.

Issue 6: Quantity Discrepancy in Floating Scalper when Changing Contracts via Linked Dext Chart

When a Dext Chart widget and a Floating Scalper widget are linked by the same color, searching for a Nifty option contract in the Dext Chart syncs the contract to the Scalper, but breaks the quantity and lot size behavior.

Steps to Reproduce:

  1. Open a Dext Chart widget and a Floating Scalper widget and link them using the same color.
  2. Search for a Nifty option contract (e.g., 22600 PE) directly inside the Dext Chart.
  3. Observe that the contract instantly updates on the Floating Scalper.

Actual Result:

  • The Qty field does not reflect the standard lot size.
  • Both Qty and Lot Size are stuck displaying a value of 1.
  • Increasing the lot size manually updates the lot number, but the actual Qty field incorrectly mirrors that same low value instead of multiplying by the market lot size.

Expected Result:

  • The Qty should automatically calculate based on the correct lot size for that contract.

Additional Context (What works correctly):

  • If you search for a contract (e.g., 22500 CE) directly inside the Floating Scalper widget while the color link is active, the Qty and lot sizes display and calculate perfectly. The issue only triggers when the contract change originates from the Dext Chart.

Wanted to share some feedback regarding improvements in Dext Charts / Orderflow charts.

Dext-Zoom-in

Dext-Zoom-out

When I zoom out the orderflow charts, there candlesticks are surrounded by volume area (As shown in above images). When I tested other brokers orderflow the transition was slightly smooth and refined (Please check the below images from other broker).

Hi @Dhan @Riken_Mehta, please consider adding a shortcut icon to open Dext charts in full screen at the two highlighted spots. This will save users from having to flip the toggle switch back and forth between TradingView and Dext.

Hi @tarunjaiswal ,

To open the DEXT chart in full screen directly from the web, you can use the given feature.

Got it @Mrunmayi_Vaity,

Could you please check the tooltip alignment and the TP/SL line behavior on the DEXT chart?

  • Tooltip Issue: When hovering over the crosshair, it triggers two tooltips and partially blocks the PNL line. Ideally, there should be some spacing. (See attached images of the issue vs. the clean view).
  • TP/SL Line Issue: When the TP or SL lines are dragged, their indicators still remain visible on the Position line. Once dragged, they should disappear from the Position line.

Hi, Earlier @PravinJ responded saying there is a major update planning on this dex charts., has that gone in? Asking because I am still seeing lot of quirks on it, i was holding off sharing them here thinking it would be addressed in the major update…

Some of those quirks are as follows,

Hollow candles type, not showing Filled green and hollow bars.

Fibonacci tools (Retracements / Extensions) are inverted by default while plotting

Channel Tool is behaving wonky, their height adjustment points are out of alignment,

Some of my indicators doesn’t have style size in their settings menu, Super trend for example, when i select circle style, there is no option to reduce its size.

The Speed and Snappy response of the Dex chart when opened inside the Web.dhan is not there while opening it as https://charts.dhan.co/ directly..

Also, let me know if its possible to overlap multiple indicators on the Sub Panes, currently this is possible in tv.dhan, i could do this in DEX chart also in the initial days, but later it was removed, now there is no Option of “Move to Existing Pane Above” available there..

hello,

tooltip issue has been resolved. thank you.

Here’s Some more Quirks found,

In Charts, if I wanted to remove the Indicator or Symbol’s Label name and Keep only the Value Lines on Chart, it is not working , its completely removing Both Value and Line from the Chart.

For example, if i remove the Symbol Value and try to keep only the Symbol Line, then the Price (LTP)update line Goes away from Chart. If i enable them back, then along with the LTP line its respective symbol name is also shown on price scale.

Similarly for Indicator, I have ovelapped multiple indicator in a single Sub chart pane, so if i wanted to remove the Label on price scale and keep only the values in status line then its not working, once i remove the lebels on price scale, all the labels and values goes away from the chart, if i remove only the values in the status line box, then it does nothing.

hello sir,

this issue has been fixed, try it out.

Thanks Riken,
I just checked it, the issue with the Scales & lines under General Chart Settings is now fixed. But the issue with the Indicator Styles Settings still remains.. Also i have posted a bunch of similar issues on this thread (few post above this) Hope you are checking them as well.
