Title: Dhan Data API / NIFTY Quote API suddenly stopped working despite active Data API subscription

Hi Dhan Team / Community,

I’m facing a sudden issue with the Dhan Data API that started on October 1, 2026, even though my Data API subscription is active and has nearly one month remaining.

My application was working normally earlier on October 1. Later, without making any changes to the application or API configuration, the NIFTY spot/quote request started failing.

The application uses the DhanHQ Python SDK and calls the Market Quote API for NIFTY:

NIFTY security ID 13 and the IDX_I segment are being used.

The failure I receive is:

ValueError: Unable to fetch NIFTY spot:

The relevant startup traceback is:

Environment

• Date of issue: October 1–2, 2026

• Data API subscription: Active

• DhanHQ Python SDK: 2.2.0

• Instrument: NIFTY Index

• Segment: IDX_I

• Security ID: 13

• Request: Market Quote API

• The same application/API was working normally earlier on October 1.

• No relevant code or API configuration changes were made before the failure.

One confusing aspect is that the SDK is only showing:

error_code: None
error_type: None
error_message: None

so I cannot determine the actual error returned by the Dhan API.

Could someone from Dhan please confirm:

1. Is there currently any issue with the Data API / Market Quote API?

2. Are there any temporary restrictions or authentication/entitlement issues affecting active Data API subscriptions?

3. Is NIFTY IDX_I / 13 currently expected to return quote data through the API?

4. Is there a known issue with DhanHQ Python SDK 2.2.0 or the Market Quote endpoint?

5. Is there a specific error code I should be looking for in this situation?

Since the subscription is active and the API was working earlier the same day, I would like to determine whether this is an issue on the Dhan side or something specific to my API session/account.

I am facing the same issue, I have mailed them for the same. But skeptical how soon they will fix this considering its a three day holiday and today being a national holiday. If they are unable to fix this they should extend the data api for the number of days lost but still that would not compensate for the lost time
