First of all, I really appreciate the MTF experience on Dhan. I use the MTF facility extensively, and it has been one of the features I value most on the platform.
Over the last 6 months, I have generated around ₹28lakh in profit using MTF, and I’m quite happy with the overall experience.
I have one important feature suggestion that I believe would make the MTF experience even better.
A consolidated MTF cost & Net P&L statement
Currently, MTF interest is available through the ledger, where it is posted periodically. However, for an active MTF user, it is difficult to get a quick picture of:
- Total MTF interest paid during the financial year
- Total pledge/unpledge charges related to MTF
- Other MTF-related charges
- Gross P&L generated from MTF trades
- Net P&L after deducting all applicable MTF charges
For example, if I have made ₹18 lakh in gross profit through MTF, I would like to know exactly how much I actually earned after paying the cost of using MTF.
What I am requesting
It would be great if Dhan could introduce an “MTF Net P&L / MTF Cost Statement” under Statements & Reports.
Why this would be useful
For someone who actively uses MTF, the headline P&L doesn’t tell the complete story.
The real question is:
“After paying Dhan for the funding, how much did I actually make from using MTF?”
A consolidated statement would make this completely transparent and would help users evaluate the actual benefit and cost of MTF.
I understand that the individual charges can already be found in the ledger. The request is not necessarily for new data, but for bringing all the existing information together in one meaningful report.
Something similar to a Net P&L statement, where all applicable charges are automatically deducted, would be extremely valuable.
Since Dhan has been continuously improving MTF — including the recent interest-rate and funding-limit enhancements — I think this would be a very useful next step for serious MTF users. (MadeForTrade)
Request to the Dhan team: Please consider adding an MTF Net P&L + Total MTF Interest Paid statement for each financial year.
I believe this would significantly improve transparency and help users understand the actual returns generated through MTF.
