ICICI Bank Account Closure Blocked by 3IN1BROKER / Moneylicious Linkage

Dear Dhan Product Team,

I need your help resolving an issue that Customer Care has been unable to resolve.

My ICICI Bank account was previously linked to my Dhan account, and I had enabled ICICI One Tap. I subsequently added my IDFC Bank account, made it primary, and removed the ICICI account from Dhan.

Dhan Customer Care has confirmed in writing that the ICICI bank account and One Tap facility have been deleted from my Dhan account.

However, ICICI Bank is refusing to close my savings account because their system still shows:

“3IN1BROKER – MONEYLICIOUS SECURITIES TRADING LINKED ACCOUNT”

ICICI has specifically instructed that this linkage be cleared from Dhan/Moneylicious Securities’ end. I have attached the screenshot provided by ICICI.

Please investigate the backend linkage with ICICI and remove/terminate the 3IN1BROKER / MONEYLICIOUS SECURITIES TRADING LINKED ACCOUNT relationship, if it is still active.

Please note that I am not asking whether the ICICI account is currently visible/linked in my Dhan account—Customer Care has already confirmed that it is deleted. The issue is the residual linkage showing in ICICI’s system, which is preventing closure of my bank account.

Please have the Product/Technology team investigate this specifically and confirm once the ICICI-side linkage has been cleared.

Please feel free to reach out to me via DM for account details.

Thanks.

@ekveer In this case of broker customer support is not helping or is unable to solve you can escalate this query to sebi scores and issue will be resolved within 15 days.

Thanks for the suggestion. I’m not aware of the SEBI SCORES escalation route, but before venturing into any escalation, I’d like to give Dhan’s Product Team an opportunity to investigate and resolve the issue, since it appears to be a backend/product-level linkage issue. If that doesn’t resolve it, I’ll proceed with the appropriate escalation.

@ekveer it’s perfectly fine to first co-ordinate with the broker support system also this is the first procedure mentioned to raise a request with sebi scores portal but make sure if this is left unresolved by all the teams in the broker system you have to keep records of all the emails and community forum chats as you have to attach these in your complaint of sebi scores.

Also if you aren’t aware about sebi scores then sebi is the regulator of Indian financial markets and it’s system sebi scores is completely online portal to escalate the issues you are facing from any intermediary (like brokers) to the regulator (sebi) you have to attach all the required proofs like records of email etc that justifies that you have first escalated the issue to broker support and they are not able to solve this so in this case sebi (the regulator) will intervene in this and send a complaint file to broker to which broker is legally bound to submit atr (action taken report) the report that states that the issue is resolved within 15 to 20 days if the broker fails to give atr to sebi within the time frame necessary legal actions will be taken from sebi against the broker it may be like some heavy financial fines and can be as harsh that if sebi finds major failure in broker systems they can even suspend their license.

Hey @ekveer ,

Following our conversation over call, do help us with more details over email at help@dhan.co, so we can look into this.

Thank you for detailing the process. This is very helpful.

Dhan customer care contacted me again and I have provided details they have asked for. I will wait for them to resolve the issue before escalating it to SEBI.

Thank you.

I have sent the details asked over phone call. Looking forward to resolution.

Hey @ekveer ,

Thanks for sharing the details! We’re looking into this.

Hey @ekveer ,

The ICICI One Tap feature has now been delinked from your bank. You can go ahead and close the bank account from your end.

Thanks for the update. I was able to close the account.

Hope you have updated your SOP so that others wont face the same issue in the future.
