Introducing Margin Trading Facility (MTF) on Dhan: Now Trade with Less πŸ’°

Want to add that 40% haircuts are huge!!! Same securities have only 20% in Zerodha. I am observing a lot of things/features like these as I trade more in Dhan. Any plans to make it on par? @Pranita

Hey @aaridrakamanu ,

Yes, you need to maintain margins for covered calls. To give physical delivery , please activate DDPI and send a mail to our customer support on help@dhan.co. Also ensure you have the necessary margins.

Thanks,

The profit and loss statement displays realized profit, but it doesn’t factor in charges like MTF, DP, brokerage, and STT. We need to manually calculate the actual profit after deducting these charges. Is there a simpler method I’m overlooking? Please assist, Dhan.

Hey @off2gaurav ,

You could check your ledger for more details on your charges for now. Additionally, we will shortly be introducing an MTF calculator that will help you understand the exact breakup of all the charges along with net profit and loss on your trades.

Thanks,

Hi,
Do we have any API to check the MTF margin requirement for a given stock or any weblink to download such details? That would help taking position using APIs.

Zerodha is launching MTF at 12.8% p.a. non-compounded. Pledge margins from stocks, MFs would be allowed with 5x exposure. Per stock exposure is limited to β‚Ή10 lakhs per client with β‚Ή50 lakhs overall client exposure that can be revised after visiting their office and they decide to raise it for you.
