@PravinJ This is great. As you had mentioned in a previous post about low liquidity for SLBM stocks, would the Dhan team add a Liquidity indicator so that it helps Dhan users to make a better decision?
Hi @nitishbangera Yes - we bring SLBM with lots of insights, market data and depth, usually things that are available on dashboards of large institutional players who look for shorting positions, which results in the need for rental.
Also the post is in from last 3 years, and one more example of when we change our stance
Hello @PravinJ You might think that I am a Dhan critic but I am not . The reason I brought in the post is to get clarity on what will be given and how well I can use it as I am more into the cash market than the derivative market.
hey @nitishbangera Nope, no way we think like that. We have heard some of the harshest feedback in our journey of building Dhan and yes we know that we have lots more to do⦠still new in the journey where everyone has been there for a decade or two.
On Rental via SLBM, it is an interesting product and today it makes sense for us for two reasons - we looked at data to see really good liquidity, we have been keeping a track of this segment for past 6 months. Secondly, back then we were early and had just a few customers who invested with us, today that number is very high and we have noticed that there is a good overlap between what our users have, and whats in demand on SLBM.
Hope this helps and we will be more happier when this product is rolled out to you.
Request you to please do a write up on what exactly is SLBM for noobs like me who havenβt even heard of it..
Like risks, how it works, what are charges, is it like pledging, what if tenant does adverse possession on shares rented to them, what is benefits to tenant, who will be beneficiary of any corporate action in that stock after renting, will renting be exclusive to dhan to dhan customers or across brokers? There could also be some downsides to renting - please focus on that as well.
Thanks sir. Looking forward to it and as usual will report issues and bugs here on this thread
I know tenant is not the right word here, but as i said i am noob in this.
The line could have been βEarn upto 35% p.a. over and above your portfolio returnsβ. While writing portfolio holdings isnβt technically wrong, but as the rental income is over and above all our capital gains and dividends, ideally should have been portfolio returns.
Nonetheless, excited to try out this new facility. I even identified stocks to rent as soon as this is launched.
I know these are very silly mistakes and most people wonβt even notice, but still for professionalism sake.
One question: Is the DP charge in slbm be chaged on ISIN basis like how it is done with equity delivery or if i rent out multiple stocks in one transaction, I have to pay DP charge once? May sound silly but please bear with me. As i said earlier i am noob.
Hi @Pradumya Thnx for highlighting these we will get them rectified, and to answer your query, yes the DP charges application on SLBM are charged on ISIN basis irrespective of the number of trades done throughout the day in the same ISIN similar to equity.
Is it live for users?
I have received app update on Oct 16 which mentions SLBM feature in the description. However, I see no such feature after update.
So, when SLBM is mentioned in app update description, that means itβs rolled out to me?
I donβt find any option in the tab as of now but mentioned in the app update description.
Hi @PravinJ - Any timeline when this will be available to larger user base? Excited about this feature. Also, Please share detailed guidelines/ youtube video.
