Hi,
I place stop loss and target orders at the same time, but only the Target order is placed not the SL order, it asks for extra funds required. why is that? Is BO will be good alternative for this ?
I also tried Forever order but it does not work for Intraday.
PS: Upstox provides both orders at the same time without extra funds
Hi @Akshay_Rana Seems you are comparing two different order types, one from Dhan and the other ones on different broking platform.
On Dhan - Cover Orders & Bracket Orders are exchange certified algo orders; when you place them the orders are placed directly on exchanges and your orders will reflect on the exchange order book in bids & asks. While the other order that you are referring with, the first leg will be triggered (for which margin is required) and the rest of the legs (Stop Loss and Target) reside with the Broker and are sent when that price is reached. In this case the check for fund will happen at that time, and order will be rejected based on availability of Funds / Margins.
Hope this clarifies your query about the margin requirements. Cover & Bracket orders are to be choosen when you need priority for order execution v/s other order types like Forever or GTT.
I agree with you. @Akshay_Rana I would suggest you to post a Screenshot of the same and a line of code wrt to orders placement. Maybe that will help them to identify the cause
