The ābig brokerageā has removed TRADE TAGGING which was useless anyways. Dhan has implemented WATCHLIST TAGGING. Which is different.
I also had a negative perception about āthe big brokerageā but that is starting to change because of its ecosystem and backoffice. Both Dhan and that brokerage is good on its own terms.
Dhan has too much gamification and minimal professional design elements. Meanwhile, Dhan has MTF and it doesnāt. That big brokerage has figured out the design elements spot on⦠so there are pros and cons.
Hi @nx.vijay We had evaluated this, however there are challenges with that. We have to serve and live steam 200+ stocks at the same time + depending on what screen you are on web or app, also stream everything else. Too much data is consumed on browser memory, making it slow and and the end users may end up feeling Dhan is slow⦠or prices are not real-time or is slowing up. We have to get the right balance on performance, speed and data dissemination when we consider these features.
That said, we have some early thoughts on implementing few things here. Will keep posted.
Understood the tagging that i stated was for different segments. But they had took 2-2.5 years to implement even tags for the holdings in back office after feature request which even till date is buggy (If you tag your holdings and refresh then tags would disappear at times or holdings would be untagged even after repeated tagging. Have asked them many times to resolve it yet theyāre adamant on not doing anything since 2 years of itās introduction).

I wonāt keep anyone in negative spotlight either as you said and both has itās pros and cons. But iām just appreciating the fact that Dhan is able to implement some of these small features (some requested and some implemented without being asked).

This I totally agree. Even if i love Dhan platform for different features on design end Dhan has to improve a lot (For comparison Dhan is in Android Lollipop Material Design level and they need to improve it to Android Snow Cone Material You Design)
Since Dhan has now matured and growing. I feel they need to dial down on the gamification of the UI, and market games and start to focus on the Zen Trading experience. Simplicity and functionality with professional calm feeling design elements.
Zerodha was lagging with fundamentals but with the Tijori patnership they have implemented some Bloomberg level data and analytics.

This I have pointed many times. Reduce lot of unnecessary elements that appear on single window starting from opening window (Example today they have removed watchlist heading from top which was unnecessary. Like that lot of unnecessary elements could be removed and some things could be limited to single window).
Dhan must follow KISS principle going forward instead of placing lot of stuff in every nook and corner available and cluttering everything. If necessary separate the platform like they have done for options, stock screener etc and if necessary bring in other platforms if it adds value to original platform (like you pointed Tijori for Zerodha, Zerodhas main platform is basically partnership with standalone platforms like sensibull for options, streak for algo trading and many others. Till date they havenāt built there own options platform. Imo if necessary bring in other well built platforms and integrating it with Dhan should be thing of future)
Whatever Dhan has made progress in these 3 years is really commendable though. The rest polishing we will do it by giving feedback because Dhan listens to its users. So no worries eitherways.
On January, I had asked to put everything into a seperate back office like analytics, account management, reporting, KYC but they vehemently rejected my feedback stating that single āunifiedā platform is the future.
Look at where things stand today, ultimately THE JOURNAL is being introduced. So, even though they might reject your feedback, they do give it an afterthought.
Happily trading with Dhan since Day 1 and the story remains same today. Just keep pushing critical feedback to the management and @PravinJ things and design will improve around here.
