This feature I requested in 2022 and followed up in 2023 is still not taken up when we are almost saying goodbye to 2024, while the UI tweaks (not even improvements) were prioritized. I have a few theories why Dhan doesn’t prioritize it:
- Seems like Dhan doesn’t think individuals would get any benefit from understanding how their portfolio does, or is it that Dhan wouldn’t get benefit if the individuals get a clarity on how their portfolio does (the most plausible reason for me).
- Dhan is officially “made for traders”, so much that “investors” are almost forbidden. In that case, you could change the tagline from “made for traders” to “made for traders, not investors” to be extra explicit.
Let alone the charts or any other Portfolio analysis tools, there is not even Portfolio XIRR. In 2022, I was under the impression that company is in very nascent stage and must be working a lot, but now the “initial days” are over and reality is showing up.
Sorry if I chose harsh tone, but 3 years of unfruitful patience should justify it, I hope.
P.S.: I have been a very loyal Dhan user since the company just formed, but I think the Portfolio Analysis is the most crucial feature, and not keeping it in roadmap reflects a lot about the company’s goals. I can only wish Dhan chooses the path that’s the most beneficial to its customers.
