All About Algo Trading: A Weekly Series by Stratzy!

Hello Super traders,

We’ve got something exciting planned for you :rocket:

Many of you may know Stratzy through Dhan Algos or DhanHQ!

And over the past few months, we’ve received a lot of questions about algorithmic trading - how algos work, how to choose the right one, and how traders can use them effectively.

To make algo trading easier and more accessible for everyone, we’re starting a weekly series where we’ll break down algo trading concepts, strategies, and practical insights in a simple way.

To get started, we’d love to know what you’d find most valuable:

  1. Algo breakdowns
  2. Risk management & drawdowns
  3. Simplifying algo trading concepts
  4. Something else

Please let us know in the replies

Your answers will help us shape future posts and ensure we’re covering topics that matter to you.

We’ll be back with some super content!:flexed_biceps:

Until then,
Happy Algo Trading! :rocket:

P.S. Feel free to drop any question in the comments! @Nikhil_Bhandari, one of Stratzy’s co-founders, will be personally answering your questions.

Hey everyone! :waving_hand:

Really excited to be here on MadeForTrade — this is our first cross-post with DHAN and couldn’t think of a better community to start with.

For those who don’t know me — I’m Nikhil, co-founder at Stratzy. I started trading in college back in 2017, jumped straight into options without any foundation (lost money the hard way), and spent the next few years building the system I wish I had back then. That system is now Stratzy.

Nishanth has set this up beautifully — and I’m personally going to be in the replies answering every question you drop here.

On the poll — my honest take is that all four are connected. But if I had to pick where to start, I’d say “Simplifying algo trading concepts” because once the foundation is clear, everything else (algo breakdowns, risk management, drawdowns) starts to make intuitive sense instead of feeling like jargon.

We’ve been running a similar series on our own community at community.stratzy.in — Algo Spotlights, market regime posts, options trading basics and the questions there have been fantastic. Looking forward to bringing the same energy here.

Drop your questions below — no question is too basic. :folded_hands:

give us the platform for such strategy where u have backtested data for 5yr or more and its a proven profitable strategies so that we can even try for one lot and once we see profitable we add the lot right now on your platform we see that min capital is 1 lac for some option buying algo this amt doesnot seem to be available at every retailer desk so u can provide algo plarform on dhan portal with let say 35k-50k or around something for reserve purpose but allow to trade with one lot only for some time

Hi @ROCKY2

Very valid point.

One thing we strongly believe is that long backtests alone don’t make a strategy reliable. Markets evolve constantly like volatility, regulations, and participant behaviour keep changing. (This is the reason why a lot of strategies work in backtesting but never in real markets)

That’s why at Stratzy we focus more on robustness, risk management, slippage handling, and adaptability across different market conditions rather than just showing long historical returns. That is the reason we have an Alpha pool of 100+ Algo strategies right now and we target to have 1K+ Algos on the platform.

On the capital side as well, proper risk management becomes difficult below certain levels, especially in options buying strategies. But yes, we are actively exploring ways to make algo trading more accessible for smaller capital users too.

Also, really liked your point about lot basis option when setting up algos, we will definitely take this into consideration. Thanks for the feedback

Please provide us wealth manager access on dhanhq platform similar to the one available on stratzy platform. That would help us to understand and deploy algos effectively.
