"Bar Count" Indicator in TradingVew Charts - tv.dhan.co

Could you please enable/provide ā€œBar Counterā€ indicator in the TradingView Charts (tv.dhan). This will be very helpful in planning, analyzing and executing trades.

Attached image gives a reference from TravdingView Website.

Hi @vijaycherukuri, welcome to MadeForTrade!

Can you please share a specific use case for this indicator? Based on our understanding, the bar count in a 5 minute chart will always be 74 bars from 9:15 to 3:30. The existing time scale already provides this information clearly, for example, the 10:00 am candle represents the 10th bar on a 5 minute timeframe. This is sufficient for most users.

Hi Mohseen - Irrespective of the Time Frames (5, 15 or 60 Min), during trading or during post-market analysis & planning, I am currently using the Time Scale to count & name the bars (as you mentioned); which is very cumbersome. This is very painful especially when I copy the charts/chart images into a PowerPoint for studying and analysis. I do audit and analysis of my trades on a daily basis, by copying the Chart Images into PPT, and so lack of ā€œBar Countā€ indicator is making it very challenging for me to study, analyze and plan my trades.

While (for now) I use the TradingView website Charts for post-market analysis and planning, having this ā€œBar Countā€ indicator (on all Time Frames) on tv.dhan charts will be very helpful for planning & executing the trades ā€œREAL TIMEā€. This will also reduce the burden to manually count the bars as I audit my trades on a daily basis.

There are quite a few ā€œBar Countā€ indicators on TradingView already and this shouldn’t require much of development.

Hey @vijaycherukuri

Thanks for detailing it out. Yes, we should be able to get this, if the indicator is open sourced. Can you share the link to this indicator on TradingView, will look into the feasibility of it.

Hi @Hardik ,

Thank you very for your positive response on this.

I am unable to post the TradingView URL of the ā€œBar Countā€ Indicator, as madefortrade portal restricts new users from posting the URLs.

This indicator, per the attached screenshot, is Open Source (as mentioned by the author).

Hey @vijaycherukuri

No worries, thanks for sharing this. Will take this up soon.
