Blinkit has launched an ambulance service promising to reach you in just 10 minutes! Initially rolled out in Gurugram, this service is equipped with life-saving tools, trained paramedics, and a flat fee of ₹2,000.
With quick-commerce platforms stepping into healthcare, we have to ask: Will this actually save lives, or could it create new challenges in emergency response? Would you trust an app for life-and-death situations?

I think it is a good service. Ambulance in 10 min if they can deliver on that promise it can save many lives. It doesn’t matter whether they take extra marketing points using the service as long as lives are saved. Our country with its size and population still doesn’t have enough ambulances running around.
I think it is a good initiative. Getting an ambulance in India on time is a real challenge! So, I really wish this initiative succeeds and many more lives get saved.
And if it indeed is marketing gimmick, I would still give credit to the team for thinking something unique and at least taking steps to implement it.
I think, if delivered on the feature properly, Blinkit could soon command more than 50% market share of ambulance origination in the market. Just fire the app, and request. No haggling, no location directions.
This might serve as a trial to see how the market reacts. The ambulance service industry appears to be somewhat disorganized. If they can create a new business model from this, we could have a trustworthy and dependable emergency response team in our country.
