Yes. If your salary is ‘rich’ you get ‘rich’ 
Some one starting from a small salary base it is difficult. Some one has a high salary naturally can go higher in absolute terms faster.
Besides all the green that is unrealised has no real value. Only money in the bank or realised money in the trading account is the real money one can utilise.That is why when market crashes we hear billionaires lost billions 
Also, if not for the tax arbitrage of capital gains vs other sources of income, investing wouldn’t be so appealing. Govt is striving to simplify the taxation procedures. We could have in future a tax regime where irrespective of income sources everyone pays according to their slabs. SIPs wouldn’t feel so enticing then.
Also unless one is really wealthy the freedom to delay redemption when in need of money is not there. It means a forced redemption could happen in a bear market too at which point portfolio is not looking that great like in this bull market high.
In a Bull market hope is sold left and right. MF returns all look great. But market also goes through bear cycles. If a portfolio has 100 Cr and Market does a 60% correction then now it is 40 Cr. How many are ok with that proposition
I started in 2007 and then happened the 60% cut in the market. This made me a trader and never looked at active investments thereafter except for tax saving ELSS when I was in the old tax regime.
Besides are we at the peak of the present bull market 
India story is enticing but it was enticing in 2007 also (young population, big market, growth projections etc). So while hope is good let’s be realistic about the worst case outcomes also.
