I am writing to inform you that I would like to make my SBI account my primary bank account. Currently, my old bank account with BOM is listed as my primary account, but I would like to make the switch to SBI.
Please update your records to reflect this change. Going forward, all financial transactions and communication should be directed to my SBI account.

Happy to inform you that now we heard your request, and now you can update your primary bank account in Dhan.
Below are the steps on how you can do it:
- Simply navigate to the “Banks” section on your Dhan app or web by clicking on the “Money” tab
- Click on the “More” button on any of your secondary bank that you want to change to Primary
- Click on “Set as Primary Account”
- Give your consent to deduct â‚ą25 (+GST) from your Dhan ledger
- Provide your confirmation on the bank you want to change to Primary
- Proceed to eSign with the Aadhaar number you used to open your Dhan account

This change doesn’t reflect in MF section. The primary bank is not showing up for payment or AutoPay.
Hi @indianets, Currently, we support only one bank account for investments in Mutual Funds. We are working on allowing you to invest in Mutual Funds using any of the bank accounts linked to your Dhan account, and this will be available soon.
In the meantime, you can change your bank account for Mutual Funds by sending us a bank statement or cheque copy of the new bank account you wish to update. Please email it to help@dhan.co with the subject line “Updated Bank Proof for Mutual Funds on Dhan.”
To ensure that redemptions are processed through your newly registered bank account, you’ll also need to update the bank details in your existing folios through MF Central. Follow these steps on MF Central:
- Go to Service Request > Change Bank Account Details
- Select the Folio
- Add your new bank details
- Upload the current and new bank proof.
