Collateral rules changed? Unable to withdraw my surplus funds

Hi Dhan team,

I checked with your support but could not get a satisfactory answer.

I have cash collateral (liquid funds) + surplus cash in my Dhan account. However, it is showing “withdrawal balance” as zero. Some of it may be unsettled option selling from yesterday, but I know that most of it is from before that.

The support executive told me that in case of having both cash and collateral in the account, the cash will get used first and then the collateral (even from liquid funds). This did not make sense to me as it has never been like this in Dhan or in Zerodha. So, kindly confirm if it is some recent change.

Hey @R.E.M ,

When you use pledged collateral and are taking positions in the market- you need to maintain 50:50 ratio of cash/cash equivalent to collateral. If you have more than 50% cash, always cash will be utilised first and then collateral. Please share you details on DM incase you have any other doubts.

Thanks,

Hi @Pranita

Thanks for your reply. How is one ever supposed to withdraw their profits without closing the position? All the surplus cash will continue to be blocked as per your explanation.

Will share details over DM

thanks

Anyone else facing this issue since the last few days? I’m yet to get a proper resolution.
