I’m encountering major issues with the Webhook functionality on the Dhan platform:
Auto Reset of Webhook URL (Yesterday): My Webhook URL was automatically reset and became inactive, disrupting my trading setup.
Sell Order Executed, Buy Order Failed (Today): Despite the reset, a sell order went through using yesterday’s Webhook URL and secret code. However, the buy order failed, and no further orders were executed after that.
Failed Orders with New Credentials (Today): After generating a new Webhook URL and secret today, no orders are going through, even though all my URLs had a 30-day validity period.
These issues are causing significant disruptions in my trading operations. Please investigate and resolve this as a priority. If anyone else is experiencing similar issues, let’s discuss them here.
I also faced these same issues. Yesterday, the webhook orders were not getting triggered and the webhook became inactive as mentioned by me and another user in this thread yesterday.
The issue got fixed then but problems with webhook occurred again today. I generated a fresh webhook URL as mentioned in yesterday’s post with validity of 30 days. Today, a target order was executed fine at 9:21AM from yesterday’s futures position. Then I took fresh positions today with target and stoploss on Tradingview charts. But my first stoploss of the day got triggered in tradingview chart in fresh position from today. The same stoploss hit twice as I activated it a second time to check if it was by mistake. The alert got triggered fine in tradingview but the webhook did not trigger the order on Dhan even once and I had to finally manually square off the position. The reliability of the webhooks has been pretty bad since yesterday though I never faced major issues in the past. Please check and fix the issue. I see a lot of topics based on webhooks and so, I suppose we are not the only ones facing the issues. Kindly look into it and the fix the webhook issues which have been appearing since yesterday especially.
Most of my and fellow traders orders go via webhooks to Dhan from Tradingview. I didn’t face any issue yesterday or today (till now). But my webhook URL didn’t expire yesterday. It is still live.
Typically when webhook URL expires no order goes through. Note that webhook URL automatically becomes inactive after the validity date and time. We have note this and regenerate the URL if we want our orders to keep going through.
Having said that @Hardik my webhook order didn’t fire just now when an alert came on TV. Any issue with the webhook interface now ? Note that it was firing today morning.
@Hardik One webhook Stoploss got triggered right now. So, it is again working now. Let me check the next webhook stoploss or target to be sure. I faced the problems mostly since yesterday. Today, four alerts got triggered in tradingview (one of them was twice triggered as I reactivated it to check again). Two of them got triggered fine and the third one (alert reactivated a second time to check) did not triggered the order. So, let me try a few more time. Yesterday, the alerts were triggering fine once the webhook inactive issue was fixed. I will DM you the Client ID if it happens the next time.
Hello @Hardik
I do understand that this is a new feature and there will be issues but this is the 4th time I have raised a complaint regarding Webhooks not working suddenly.
I am having to regularly monitor my trades, while the whole purpose is to automate it. Yesterday I had to stay in front of the screen and manually execute trades as there was no other way and I also lost a large chunk of profit as my strategy generates orders frequently which is not possible for human to execute manually.
Can we have a no expiry Webhook URL and Secret code please? Some Crypto exchanges like Delta do offer that. Also I get email if some webhook order didn’t go through with the reason.
Also a priority support helpline for any issues related to webhooks is needed.
I have genuinely lost significant money due to order not being executed on time. Please take some actions.
Understood. While the expiry of Webhook URL is not the most important aspect of my concern, but can we have it more than 30days, say a quarter or more, it will lead to less adjustment of the set alerts in my opinion.
Other than this kindly focus primarily on integrity and robustness of this automation mechanism to avoid future issues related to order execution.
Hi @Hardik
I faced issue with webhook today, it posted 2 updates, after that no postback was received.
Please look into it as this is not mentioned anywhere as a limitation.
