My Dhan Data API suddenly stopped working on October 1, 2026, even though my Data API subscription is active and has almost one month remaining.
The API was working normally earlier on October 1. I did not make any changes to my application, API configuration, or subscription before the issue started.
I am using DhanHQ Python SDK v2.2.0 and requesting the NIFTY Index quote using Dhan’s standard identifiers:
response = self.data_client.quote_data( securities={ "IDX_I": [13] })
IDX_I is Dhan’s Index segment and 13 is the NIFTY Index security ID.
The request is now failing with:
ValueError: Unable to fetch NIFTY spot:
{'error_code': None, 'error_type': None, 'error_message': None}
This was working earlier the same day without any code changes.
Could Dhan please check whether there is currently an issue with:
- Data API / Market Quote API
- API authentication or access/entitlement
- NIFTY Index quote data
- DhanHQ Python SDK v2.2.0
Also, could you please confirm the actual error being generated on Dhan’s side? My SDK is only returning None for the error code, type and message, so I cannot determine what is actually being rejected.
My Data API subscription is definitely active, so this does not appear to be a subscription-expiry issue.
Has anyone else experienced the same issue today?
