Namaste Everyone,
The story of Dhan isn’t really our story. It’s yours. Dhan has been shaped by thousands of conversations we had with traders & investors across India.
When we launched in November 2021, almost no one noticed. For a while, we were quietly failing, heading nowhere. One day, we stepped out of our comfort zone, got on the road, and started meeting & interacting with the very people we were building for. Traders. Investors. Strangers who slowly became the reason we kept going & building Dhan.
Over the last five years, we’ve held events in city after city, met more than 50,000 people in-person, and spoken with over 5,00,000 of you online. Every single feature we’ve shipped, every product we’ve built, is a result of those conversations. You didn’t just use Dhan. You believed in it, shaped it, and made it what it is.
As we near our fifth Diwali, we reflect on our journey and the interactions we had with everyone across every region, in every language and each one of those unique experiences. Every interaction gave us insights that shaped our product journey of building Dhan, but also helped us understand how intertwined our people, our cultures and our traditions are with money, not as a transaction, but as a tradition!
Yes, India speaks over a hundred languages, and one thread runs commonly through us all. Dhan (or money as we know it) is embedded in a unique language and unique ways in our traditions. So to keep it simple we made a film-a rather long one, made with a great deal of love.
We’ve tried our very best to capture all of India in the truest way we could in our attempt to capture our country, its warmth, its diversity and its soul uniquely in a single film we call - Dhan ki Bhasha.
So here it is, for all of you — Dhan ki Bhasha.
We hope you like it and it stays with you. And we hope that somewhere in it - in a face, a language, a moment - you feel a quiet sense of belonging, and recognise a little bit of yourself and your own family while watching Dhan ki Bhasha.
Over 1000 cast & crew members, 45 days of shooting, 4 crews filming across 15 states in India - it took us more than 180 days to put all of this together. While the idea for Dhan ki Bhasha itself has been in the making for more than 18 months.
India’s growth story is just getting started. There may be ups & downs but we are unshakably bullish on this country and its people. There is so much more to build. So much more to reach. And we fully intend to build with Dhan.
And if it speaks to you in any way at all, write back to us the way you always have. That is how we’ve built everything so far, and how we’ll build everything still to come — not alone, but together.
With deep gratitude,
Pravin Jadhav
