Disconnect in market depth

Hi,

The DOM on tv.dhan.co artificially shows lower volumes resulting in wrong interpretation of bid ask while trading.

See the screenshot, I have attached both the market depths: Dhan’s native as well as DOM.

However, volumes in both are quite different. DOM in tv.dhan results in believing that this scrip is hardly liquid in cash whereas it is very liquid if we see Dhan’s native depth.

There is a difference of more than 100 times in quantity available.

Moreover, this misrepresentation is also there even when we set the DOMto full instead of 5 levels.

I am not sure if anyone has noticed it or not. I am facing this problem for long now but thought of reporting it today.

I hope this will be resolved soon!

Hi @Dhan team,

I am not sure if this is deliberate or not. But why these detailed constructive feedbacks are not acknowledged?

What’s the point for me for writing detailed ones with screenshots and markings?

@Dhan_Cares

Hi @Shally, apologies for the delayed response.

The reason is that you have selected to show only 5 levels of depth. Please click on Show Full Depth in your user settings. Even after doing so, you may notice a mismatch or fewer bids/asks on tv.dhan.co, as we display totals for visible bids/asks, whereas on Dhan Web, bid/ask values are shown according to the exchange’s total feeds.

Hope this helps!

Hi @Mohseen_Usmani,

While it was apparent that bid/ask on tv.dhan is the total of top 5 bid/ask shown (or total of top 20 bid/ask, if enabled); what I meant is that this behaviour leads to certain unintended consequences. For e.g.,

In the image posted in original message, I wanted to trade Hyundai but when I checked its DOM on tv.dhan, it seemed there was very less liquidity in cash and thus there is no point taking trade in this counter for intraday basis.

But then I thought, this is a big counter then why volumes are less? And then when cross checked, it appeared that DOM only shows total of data shown.

What I am asking here is to change this behaviour in DOM to show total of all the bids/asks rather than only what is being shown (top 5 or 20).

This will give user a good idea of liquidity of the scrip without being compelled to check other sources to get the same.

Hi @Shally, understood your point.

There are certain limitations as per tradingview library however, we will surely work on optimising this.
