I see that the MCX Crude Oil expired options data is only available for the last 3 months.
Isn’t it supposed to have 5 years of data as per your docs? Could you please clarify?
Hey @Amit_Thoriya ,
We are getting it checked and will get back to you with an update.
Hi @Shrutika_Poojari can you please help me in getting the expired historical futures data for different commodities
{
“securityId”: “XXXX”,
“exchangeSegment”: “MCX_COMM”,
“instrument”: “FUTCOM”,
“interval”: “60”,
“oi”: false,
“fromDate”: “2024-09-11 09:30:00”,
“toDate”: “2024-09-15 13:00:00”
}
How do I get the instrumrnt id of expired contracts ? Looks like a minor detail I am missing
Hi @KalpaTrader ,
We wanted to inform you that historical intraday data is available for up to 5 years, but only for active contracts. Since the contracts you’re referring to are expired, the intraday data cannot be fetched for them. You’ll be able to fetch intraday minute data only for currently active expiries — starting from the contract’s start date up to the current day.
However, if you wish to fetch daily historical data for futures, that’s possible, as we provide continuous charts for futures on the daily timeframe. You can use the current expiry’s security ID to get this data, which will cover the full history since inception.
Hope this clarifies your query.
So the offering is somewhat incomplete then
- it covers only the indices and single stocks. .
Afaik no commodity contract has a such a long lifespan. Also the spot gold/silver/crude prices are not quoted like an index.
