is it necessary that a stock broker has to allow buy/sell of sgb , tbill, etc to the user having trading & demat account with the broker.
my issue is groww and indmoney doesnt show tbill, sgb on search button but if i subscribe to tbill on nsegobid then will i be able to sell it on groww/indmoney ??
note : groww provides option to invest in sgb from their app itself & previous sgb bought via bank using groww boid is also reflecting in portfolio & buy sell option for that sgb already in portfolio is reflecting.
I am more concerned about tbill as there is no option on groww to apply for tbill . also the search button doesnt give any result. so if i buy tbill on nse gobid using groww boid then what will happen ?
@krishag There is no such restriction from the exchange to allow or disallow. If a TM is active, it can bid for all the trade eligible securities in the exchange. Not sure about how Groww or IndMoney are operationally handling this - but the things is plain vanilla - If a security is eligible for trade in the exchange, it can be bought and is present in your DP (even if you get from any source), it can be sold.
If you buy a T-Bill on NSEs goBID platform, you can see them in your holdings and can also sell them, as said earlier no restriction in selling.
@krishag It could possibly be because they dont show T-Bills on the front end. If this is the case, none of the T-Bills can be traded over Groww atleast from the Front End (Haven’t used Groww so not absolutely sure about this). I’ll check and get back on this.
@krishag In that case, you can use the call and trade facility, I presume that is available at Groww. The RMS desk has access to trading terminals, they will help you in this case.
