Improvement Suggestion: 1 click refresh of all the charts in the layout

Refer the button on dashboard (marked with arrow) to refresh the chart in case it is frozen or not refreshing.

Now, what happens, is if I have more than 1 chart layout (in the image I’m using 6 screen layout), so I have to go to each chart and click this button each time which is unnecessary hardship.

For e.g., in the posted image as you can in the encircled portions, the last tick of Nifty is different in all the timeframes. So, I have to go to each one and click refresh button to get the whole screen refreshed.

P.S.: Why does this behaviour happen?

Hi @Shally,

If you have different scrips in each of your layouts, you’ll need to refresh each layout individually. However, if all layouts display the same scrip with the same timeframe, refreshing one chart will update all layouts simultaneously, we have noted your feedback for the same and shared it with our team. We will evaluate this suggestion for future improvements.

Hi @Siyanka,

I almost always use same scrip in all the layouts, but refreshing one doesn’t refresh all, as you have mentioned.

Even in the image I posted, I have used just different timeframes of Nifty in each of the screens. Still I had to refresh each one of them separately to refresh the whole layout.

Hey @Shally

Over here, as Siyanka highlighted, this condition needs to be met to ensure refresh charts works for all frames.

Since the timeframes are different in each of the frame, you might feel that the refresh is not working as intended. This is kept this way to give the option, especially in multi-chart layout to refresh just the chart data and not the entire layout (which happens on browser-refresh).

Hi @Hardik,

Really, didn’t understand the logic behind this!!

Let’s say I am using 6 screen layout. Why would I keep same scrip with same timeframe in all the 6 windows? The whole purpose of multi screen layouts is to provide user with the option to correlate one chart to another. I hope you are with me here!

Moreover, the logic @Siyanka mentioned doesn’t hold good for non-intraday timeframes. For e.g., have a look at this chart:

In this, the top three charts are Monthly, Weekly and Daily. All of the three will be refreshed at once, once I click the refresh button even when I am having different timeframe in each of the screen.

It is the non-intraday timeframes which don’t get refreshed.

I would request you to please discuss this with your team.

Further, browser refresh is difficult. Since Dhan uses same URL for all the open charts. Refreshing the browser tab, loads the latest saved chart instead of the one we are watching currently. I have discussed this issue in detail in some other thread.

Hello @Shally

Will look into optimising this experience, taking this feedback as of now. Yes, refreshing single frame at a time can be cumbersome, will have to check if we can enable multi-frame refresh.
