To simplify online transfers, Central Depository Services Limited (CDSL) introduced Easiest, a digital facility that lets investors move their holdings between brokers. While it was a significant improvement, the process still feels complicated to many. Users aren’t sure where to start or how to complete the transfer safely, and as a result, they often abandon the process midway simply because it feels unfamiliar which anyway shouldn’t have taken more than a few minutes.
At Dhan, we’ve seen this firsthand. During the last 4 years, we’ve received several requests from users to transfer their portfolio from another platform to Dhan. We are grateful for these requests, as it shows incredible confidence in our platform. In fact, we addressed this issue almost three years ago when we wrote a detailed guide on share transfer for users. However, it’s rarely a smooth experience.
