Introducing: Market Replay on Dhan TradingView Charts

Hello Traders

At Dhan, our mission is to empower you with tools that truly enhance your trading experience. We have partnered with the TradingView to deliver a world-class charting experience tailored for the Indian traders. From direct trading on TradingView.com to custom & seconds timeframes on tv.dhan.co, scalper mode, options chain on charts are few features which help charting & trading easy and accessible for you.

And we are not stopping here! We know there is so much more we can do to give Dhan users an edge. When we launched the TradingView+Dhan console, it had almost everything available on tradingview.com except Alerts, Community Script & Bar Replay. We introduced Webhook Orders for traders who trade using pine script & later the Price Alerts on charts. The only parity left was Bar Reply. And here we are …

Introducing : Market Replay on Dhan - Learn & Practice on Charts

Reviewing your past trades and trading behaviour is essential for learning from mistakes and making better decisions in future sessions. One way to do this is by using the Trader’s Diary, which shows only the trades you successfully executed. But what if you missed the market, didn’t trade in a particular stock, or simply want to practise in a new market? That is where Market Replay comes in as the perfect tool for you.

Market Replay lets you rewind the charts on time scale, view past market movement and closely analyse each bar & candle. This feature allows you to replay historical market data bar-by-bar, candle-by-candle, directly on your TradingView charts on Dhan, with all the drawing tools, technical indicators and any timeframe of your choice.

To use Market Replay, click on the Replay icon from the top menu on tv.dhan.co. A new tab with the selected instrument will open. Select your start point by choosing the candle from which you want to replay the market. From that point, watch each market movement as it unfolded as in real time.

As a feature you can control the speed, watch in slow motion, fast-forward, or pause at crucial moments to analyse movements in detail. This flexibility allows you to adapt the replay to your learning pace, especially during high-action moments. Try out your strategy and see the performance report at the end.

As the saying goes, ‘Practice makes the man perfect’. This is for you to practise the markets before you go for the real test. Market Replay is now available on Dhan TradingView Charts for all, made especially for Indian markets.

Keep Practising & Happy Trading

Hello @Ravi_Bhola

You can go to tv.dhan.co and find the market replay button on the top navigation bar. Will be realising a walk through of this soon on Youtube.

@Ravi_Bhola here is a video on it - https://youtu.be/WvkxSKVWDZo?si=ILEfkMuC0B0nJkf5

Thnak you.

Actually, they haven’t removed. They have developed this feature from scratch and thus it is not equivalent to tradingview’s bar replay. I hope they will add multiple timeframes in future and higher timeframes too.

Hi @Hardik, when using bar replay, why does the past data go away as soon as the replay is started?

Because of this, indicators are not being calculated.

Hi @Hardik please look into this.

Hello @Shally @Bipin

This is because as @Shally mentioned, we built this grounds up and tradingview library does not support multi-layout for bar replay as of now. We will definitely look into adding this moving forward.

Noted this. When replay is selected, data is loaded on charts which is fixed interval. Will check the logic here and enhance this further.

Hi @Hardik, few feedback (apart from the ones already shared by me and others) on market replay feature:

  1. On tv.dhan.co, whenever we type something, the relevant scrips start to show up. However, there is no option to change a scrip on replay url. For e.g., if I’m replaying a scrip, let’s say, BSE and want to move on to another scrip, there is no option for that. First, I have to go to tv.dhan.co and load the desired scrip and then again press replay button. This can, surely, be improved.

  2. Saved indicators templates don’t appear in replay mode.

  3. Settings are not getting saved. Let’s say I changed the colour of MA to Orange. It doesn’t get saved the next time I open the replay tab for another scrip.

Yes many options are withdrawn and denied by tradeview . This is pathetic. Dhan should take note, as their adv campaign is totally around trade view

Ok, thanks for clarifying hardik.

Hello @Shally

Will take a look into enabling this.

This might not be possible, as the Replay mode is built independent of tv.dhan.co. Will try to see if this is feasible and whether it should be included.

Again, this is related to the 2nd point. Market Replay is built on very light weight module as replaying bar itself is a big task. For now, you will have to make all these changes on tv.dhan.co itself.

@Sunil_Doiphode Welcome to MadeForTrade community!

Yes, this is true. However, tradingview does have a lot of premium features which it cannot extend to everyone. At Dhan, we have collaborated with the TV team closely to ensure you get the best charting experience in Indian markets. If you feel there are any gaps, do let us know and we will be happy to hear.

Hi @Hardik,

Problem is the changes done on tv.dhan.co don’t reflect or sync with replay module. For e.g., I use 20 EMA in Orange colour. But on replay module that gets changed to some other colour. And I have to do it everytime. This can’t be done everytime and whenever we change scrip.

I understand that it is a light weight module. But some integration is needed to make it useful.
