Issues with Net Worth Calculation and Share Listings on DHAN Platform

Hello,

I am a swing trader and new to DHAN. I like most of the features, which is why I am planning to concentrate my trading on the DHAN platform. However, I have a few issues:

  1. Whenever I buy a share for long-term investment, the shares are listed under the Positions page on the first day of purchase, even though I selected ‘Investing’ while purchasing.

  2. These shares are added to the Stocks/Portfolio page only on the next day.

  3. Hence, I cannot calculate my net worth on the day of purchase; I have to wait until the next day. I need to know my net worth regularly as my trading strategies and position sizing rely heavily on net worth.

  4. To calculate my actual net worth, I even have to stop buying or selling shares for a day.

  5. When I sell a share, the cash in “Available for Investing” does not show correctly. For that, I also need to wait until the next day. For example, if I sell shares worth 3000, it shows an amount between 2500 and 3000. In another app that I use for trading, it shows the full amount for investing, but they restrict a certain amount for withdrawal until the actual settlement is completed.

If you consider these points, I believe you can address the issues and suggestions raised in this forum regarding “Net Worth” report issues.

1:- When you buy stocks either Intraday/MIS/Delivery, The stocks always shows in the position page, its because that position is not settled yet, if in case you sell that position it counts as “INTRADAY” even if you bought it as “DELIVERY/INVESTING”, Every broker is like that.

2:- The stocks you bought as “INVESTING” and did not sell them, After market closing “EOD” (END OF THE DAY) Settlement, next day those stocks shows to your “PORTFOLIO” page. This is the reason they show next day to your portfolio page.

5:- For example you bought stocks for 10,000 and if you sell them after getting delivery of those stocks, you will get 80% of your selling value same day (8000 out of 10000), rest of the amount you’ll get next day. Every broker is like this, this is how these things works.

@Sandeep, thank you for your response. I understand the technical aspects you explained. However, what I am looking for is a simple and user-friendly system like the one provided by GROWW. Most features I mentioned are already implemented in GROWW and other platforms which will greatly benefit customers using the DHAN platform.

Please review this forum. There are numerous unresolved issues regarding P&L, net worth, and stock listings that have been raised years ago, and many users are still experiencing problems.

Regular users prefer straightforward solutions over technical details, which can be managed on the backend.
