@Hardik when I tried from web.
However exit selected positions worked from mobile app for the same positions.
@Hardik any update on this ? Today also auto slice failed for “Exit Selected Positions”. This was just one long sensex put I was trying to exit (no margin issue as I had already manually closed the short leg). I would appreciate it very much if Dhan can fix issues mentioned in this thread so that it becomes useful to active traders like me.
Hi @t7support This is exchange rejection, not from Dhan.
There is a label EXCH that indicates same when the transaction gets rejected at exchange level, Dhan was fine with it.
If u see 2000 contracts were fired together when I clicked “Exit Selected Positions”. It should have been auto sliced into multiple orders to bring the order size below freeze quantity. This seems to be the issue.
This issue is not fixed yet.

Is this issue resolved? If I exit a spread or multiple positions sometime buy leg remain open due to margin issue. Exit order not going in exit sell leg first and buy leg next?
@Hardik 3 years since this issue was raised, and we are still forced to exit positions one by one when there are hedged positions.
Will Dhan ever fix this?
It is simply a matter of closing the sell/short positions first, followed by the long hedge positions when exiting an options strategy.

I have also mailed them regarding this exit all function not working as intended a couple of times with detailed logs , and the issue still persists, sometimes the sequencing works , many times it does not. i even followed up quite a bit but it is still as it was , ie still broken and unreliable

Multiple users have pointed this out, but Dhan still isn’t closing the short legs first. Instead, it attempts to close the hedge leg first, which will obviously be rejected because the resulting naked short position requires significantly higher margin than a hedged position, unless the user has enough funds in the account to carry the naked short position. In that case, it defeats one of the primary purposes of having a hedged position in the first place.
The order placement sequence for the Exit All feature is as mentioned: exit order for short positions are sent to exchange first, followed by exit order for long positions. However, we do not wait for the first order to reach a terminal state before placing the next order.
@Sarita, we need to review your case to understand what happened, as this is not the expected behaviour. It is possible that one of the orders remained in a pending state or there was a delay in receiving the response from the exchange. Can you please share your account deatils in DM.
This is not what am seeing on my orders page. Unless I have money to hold the naked short position exit selected will fail very often as it seems to send the hedge leg fast to failure before the open short closure.
I use this feature regularly and is quite used to seeing failures. Inorder to ensure faithful execution I either close the orders one by one or first check and exit all short positions manually before closing the hedge long positions manually.
Over the last three days, I have shared order sequences showing an issue when using the “Exit Selected Positions” feature to close positions on Dhan (DM channels and email).
In each instance, the system attempts to close the long hedge leg first. This order fails, and approximately one second later, the short leg is closed. As a result, the failed long leg remains open while the short leg is executed. Please investigate and resolve this execution logic.
