Hello team. The leverage of most of the MTF stocks have been reduced to 2x. I don’t want to trade on different platforms. Please fix this soon.

Our Risk team has taken the call to reduce margins / coverage when the markets started to get volatile. We expect the same for few more days, until the general elections are over and results announce. Post that, our team is scheduled to revisit the lists for MTF.

I have another query… please help me understand this. Suppose I took a mtf trade of Rs 100000 out of which 50000 was funded by broker. I have 30000 on my trading account. Will I still be charged interest on the total funded amount or interest will be charged on remaining 20000?

Please confirm if your team is going to revisit and there are high chances of getting the normal leverage rates on MTF as it used to be before January 2024. As, I have lost multiple opportunities due to this revised MTF leverage. Now, again if it is going to be phase wise revision, then I might not have much patience to wait for few more months… I love to trade on Dhan platform due to its simplicity, transparency and technology. So, now it would be difficult for me to port to a different broker.

Whether the mtf capping of rs 15l per account is removed or still it is applicable?

Thank you for your kind words, very happy to hear that you enjoy using Dhan. As explained earlier, the decision of reducing the limits was taken considering the volatility in the markets. We will be revisiting this soon after the elections and taking a call on revising these limits accordingly.

Elections are over, oath taking ceremony is also over. Are we going to resume the normal margins for MTF again anytime soon? Or is it still going to take some more time?
