@Hardik Why are market orders getting converted to limit orders despite not have any slippage? I fail to understand what is the point of enabling algo trading if one has to go to the platform to make changes from limit to market? is this default behavior for options now, should we modify every trade from limit to market? i missed out on a huge profit because of this idiocy. This combined with the unacceptable gaps in prices between websocket feed and market price are huge issues and i am considering moving away from Dhan altogether.
Hey @Sunil_S2
Can you confirm which instrument were you trying to place order in and when did this happen? Will look into the specifics of it.
i also faced this problem it is happening right now i lost a great amount of money beacuse another leg did not execute, revert the loss caused because it happened due to error at your end and take accountablilty i have dmed you the client id
My code does not even have any logic for limit order , something is seriously wrong with your API’s today
Oh that’s why my order are cancelled 3 times
So I just closed my algo trading today Thinking that there is some issue in my algo software didn’t took any trade today ![]()

Aaj iss problem ki wajah se mera dhan, Dhaniya ban jaata lekin me Bach gya time pe algo off Kar diya kill swith on kar diya
Happening to me as well
This is not good @Hardik , so much money lost because of it, why are all sell orders getting converted to limit orders
Yes this happened with me also , my api has the risk management if my loss hit 7k cancel pending orders and exit at market ,but the api could not cancel the order neither i could, it said confirmed cancel and then after the pending order appeard as limit and it just couldn’t sell at market , and i tried to exit the leg but it kept giving me rejection, i argued to customer support showing screen recording algo logs and everything but as you know they dont accept it neither gave and componsation I’m going to complaint in SEBI now ,and i got extra 1K loss cuz of this and this could hv been any big number
Heres the video , tell me if same happened with you

Dear Dhan Team,
We haven’t heard anything on this from your end yet.
No update on such a high-impact technical issue is not assuring.
@PravinJ
Sir, kindly intervene and confirm that the issue of market orders being automatically converted to limit orders at random prices by the Dhan API has been fixed and that it will not happen again tomorrow.
It has already led to considerable chaos today.
Not just fix they must provide compensation to people who lost money cuz of this, we pay huge brockrage and trust dhan to put our lifetime money , one day some glitch will happen and everything will he wipe out and dhan would nt even consider it happened as their customers support are just lame and never accepts their technical issues
Even i faced the same with my two accounts. Order placed as MARKET are seen as LIMIT on the Dhan app. Resulted in Loss
Dear Dhan Team,
Market is about to open for today 10-03-26 and we still haven’t heard anything on this from your end yet.
No update on such a high-impact technical issue is not assuring.

It has already led to considerable chaos yesterday.
simillar problem happened with me also. My order price was also 2000 pts away and sell order was coverted to limit order. By god’s grace order didnt execute or else i would have been wiped out from market yesterday only. This is not a mistake DHAN this is blunder.
CAn we be assured that things like this wont happen in future or we have to switch our BROKER for algo trading.
please reply
We need to make videos in social media about this
A welcome change, but if existing API users were not informed correctly that’s a cause for concern. ![]()
