Market Update : Pre Open Market Session for Futures - Nifty, Sensex & Stock Futures

Hello Traders,

We are bringing a significant update that could change how your trading day begins. It’s not just a feature rollout, but a shift in how the futures market opens, and how you, as a trader, can prepare for it with more precision and confidence.

Starting 8th December, both NSE and BSE are introducing a Pre-Open Market Session for the Futures segment, and Dhan will be live with this from Day 1.This will work exactly the same as the equity pre-open session. The bidding period for index and stock futures begins at 9:00 AM and will end anytime between 9:07 and 9:08 AM. Immediately after this, the matching period starts, lasting till 9:15 AM, after which regular trading resumes as usual.

This pre-open session will be available for all tradable index and stock futures of the current month including Nifty, Sensex & Banknifty futures. In the last 5 trading days of expiry, contracts for the next month will also be opened for pre-market activity. This gives traders to rollover in pre open session, gauge early market direction, and prepare your trades, before the bell.

As always, we are ensuring you stay ahead of the curve and equipped to make the most of every market move. Looking forward to seeing how you use this session for your trading.

Today the inaugural day, the Nifty Futures chart on dhan/tv showed no ticks or price movement during the pre-open. Am I missing something?
