I want to close my Upstox trading / demat account and transfer all shares to Dhan.
I want to avoid taxes / charges due to transfer. So I want to do a complete closure of Upstox account with transfer of shares.
Upstox DEMAT account has 2 holders (Joint holders)
Dhan DEMAT account has 1 holder (single)
Can such a transfer be done? Or mode of holding needs to be same?
If same, then can I add additional holder to my DHAN DEMAT account?

The article is outdated. BO linking is moved to miscellaneous tab. You have to add dhan BO id in trusted account tab after registration to select counter ID for transfer.

What are the charges to transfer them. If the charges will take by by both brokers

There are no DP charges from Dhan when transferring stocks from another broker. DP charges, if any, may be levied by the broker from where you are transferring the shares.
