Big difference between âEmbracing diversityâ and âEmbracing Hindiâ. I said there is no way to make every Indian happy with a common language so letâs just embrace âUnity in Diversityâ and move on.
IMO no way to come up with a common language which everyone can understand, so best they can do is provide a setting to choose language(s) in the extension.
Peace!
@mark3tn00b Buddy nobody has rejected diversity. People here only want to understand what those quotes mean. Can embracing diversity make one understand the meaning somehow magically?
If you donât have anything quantitative to say, better not say it.
@mark3tn00b , exactly thatâs my point, embrace and respect the diversity of India.
At the same time, just because one language has majority speakers, doesnât essentially means minority speakers should embrace and learn it.
If I ask @Dhan , @PravinJ ,@Dhan_Cares to implement/provide translation in regional languages, they would provide a very justifiable reply that, we are a small team right now, tough to support all languages which is a completely fine answer. At the same time, providing an English only option, shouldnât be a issue for them.
We @thisisbanerjee and others are not even asking regional language support, standardize English and Hindi (in this case, majority speakers). Those who are comfortable with Hindi, use Hindi and non Hindi speakers will filter and use English. Donât mix them
Donât get offended when Non-Hindi speakers voice their concerns for asking at least Full English text support. They are not asking to remove Hindi, They just donât understand Hindi, and wanted a common language like English to bridge the gap for non-hindi speakers.
Donât force or ask us to learn a language which we donât understand in the name of embracing the diversity. Every language has its unique characteristics. We have utmost respect to speakers of all languages including Hindi
Live and let live Hope you understand the point. Not here to debate on language wars. Peace
