Showing Hindi Quotes to a non native speaker doesn’t fit good. Either Add in description/title that extension is for Hindi speakers exclusively or get a language preference from user who are installing this, and filter out quotes only in English for those who can’t understand Hindi.

@TraderX there are multiple quotes! Do refresh and check.

Yep, I do know that @shraddha , I did 7 refreshes today morning and got more than 3 quotes in language which I don’t know. That’s the reason I gave the above constructive feedback.

Just adding a hint text on language used for the quotes in description shouldn’t be a big issue or Adding a filter in the extension to filter quotes based on language shouldn’t be a time consuming task either :crossed_fingers:

Who is using this? Would love to see the photos :blue_heart:

@TraderX
I do understand this concern, though I speak and read Hindi but in Bharat around 30-40% of the population cannot speak Hindi. Moreover the Hindi we speak has more Urdu words than Sanskrit.

There are more Sanskrit words in Tamil, Malayalam and other languages like Marathi which reflects our roots. So please either correct the spoken Hindi everywhere or provide quotes in at least 5 major indian languages.

This problem is across all the websites/institutions in India.

Let me propose a good idea, standardise all your quotes in English and be done with it.

Why English? India is the LARGEST English speaking country in the World. Besides, English is also way more easier to understand, learn and communicate.

Anybody is welcome to disagree but I am firm on my view. Cheers!

@TraderX Sanskrit is one language whose words are used in all the indian languages. Even in countries like Malaysia.
I once heard Bangladeshi Muslims in Malaysia using Sanskrit words in my cricket club there.

“If some company is really SMART they will use smart Sanskrit words that bind all of us and it reflects our roots as well.”

What’s my basis? Well in my family we have almost all south indian language speaking people plus I have lived/stayed in almost every state in India.

@Shrinivas100 With all due respect, Sanskrit is a dead language. My personal opinion.

Bangla - “thorken cheshta korben bondhu” is what I used to hear from my Bangladeshi cricket mates and I didnt need to ask its meaning because the roots of the words are from Sanskrit.

Tamil, Malayalam, Marathi, Telegu, Kannada and almost all other Indian languages have at least ‘dash’ ‘sahastra’ if not ‘laksh’ of Sanskrit words.

We need to talk stuff with data to easily prove that Sanskrit is as alive as the sun.

Lots of words in Malay(Malayisan), Bahasa Indonesia(Indonesian) and many East European countries still use Sanskrit words.

Any language in the world can be dead (like Latin) but not Sanskrit. It’s the soul and root of languages.

The name of the city ‘Singapore’ comes from Simha + Pur, again Sanskrit.

People who have studied school level literature in any Indian regional language can easily understand that sanskrit is still very much alive.

@Shrinivas100 Yet you are writing all your posts in English.

I have studied at a very prestigious school and I didn’t find any Sanskrit roots. My first language was English and second language was Bengali.

You want to talk in Sanskrit? Go talk but don’t expect a response from the other side. English is the future.

To all the people who are not happy with Hindi quotes, please try to embrace the diversity of India. I’m pretty sure there are a lot of people who do not understand English either. So there is no way to make a good extension to make everyone happy unless there is a setting to choose the language in extension.
PS: Bhaav Bhagwan Che is not Hindi but who cares about language!
@thisisbanerjee please do not try to impose English just like you do not want Hindi to be imposed, thanks

@mark3tn00b You might be mistaken. Some of my fellow citizens were complaining that they do not understand Hindi so I proposed English because India is now officially the largest English speaking country in the world.

Now this gentleman Shrinivas is undermining all languages and schooling us on how every language came from Sanskrit and all and therefore my response is appropriate.

Please do read the full context. Language is just a medium of communication.

Also @mark3tn00b I think it is you who are trying to impose Hindi on other people by asking them to ‘embrace’ it and somehow magically understand it. They never said that they don’t embrace Hindi, they said they don’t understand it. Right @TraderX ?

Exactly the problem.

Probably need to read the discussion topic again. Nobody was talking about conversing in sanskrit. We were talking about some quotes in Sanskrit.
