About SBI Funds Management Ltd
SBI Mutual Fund, established on June 29, 1987, is India’s second asset management company after the Unit Trust of India. It incorporated SBI Funds Management Ltd. on February 7, 1992, to offer a wide range of mutual fund schemes. Notably, in 1999, SBI launched India’s first ‘Contra’ fund, which invests in undervalued stocks with long-term potential.

In July 2004, SBI sold 37% of its mutual fund arm to Societe Generale Asset Management, which was later acquired by Amundi in May 2011.
