Now Live: Bank Account Deletion on Dhan!

We understand how integral payment systems and bank account management are to your trading and investing experience. That’s why we focused on developing a process that’s not just seamless but also highly secure. We’ve built layers of verification and safeguards into the system to ensure your financial data is well-protected throughout.

We’re excited to announce that it’s finally here – you can now delete bank accounts on Dhan! :tada:

This update allows you to remove any secondary bank account you no longer need, adding more flexibility and control over your Dhan account. Since security and managing finances are at the heart of Dhan, we took our time to get this feature just right.

With this new feature, you can delete any secondary bank account that is no longer relevant to you – but there are a few things to note:

  • Your primary bank account cannot be deleted.
  • Any bank account set as the primary account for mutual funds cannot be removed either.
  • If a secondary bank account is linked to active mutual fund SIPs, deleting it will not cancel the SIPs. However, you will need to manually make future SIP payments through your other linked accounts.

We’ve made this process as easy and intuitive as possible. Here’s what you need to do to delete a secondary bank account:

  1. Locate the bank account: Open your Dhan app and find the list of bank accounts in your profile.
  2. Tap the ‘:wastebasket:’ button: To remove the secondary account, click on the ‘:wastebasket:’ icon next to the bank account you wish to delete.
  3. OTP Verification: Once you’ve selected the account for deletion, you’ll receive an OTP on both your registered email ID and mobile number.
  4. Enter the OTP: Input the OTP in the Dhan app to verify your request.
  5. Initiation of deletion: Once the OTP is validated, we will begin the process of removing your bank account from Dhan and all intermediary platforms. This typically takes between 24 to 48 hours to complete. Rest assured, we will notify you via email, when the deletion process is initiated and once it is completed, keeping you updated at every stage.

Kindly take a note of the following -

  • Only one secondary bank account can be deleted at a time. If you initiate the deletion process for one bank, you will need to wait until that process is complete before deleting another secondary account.
  • If a secondary bank is under ‘Primary Bank Modification’, it cannot be deleted.

We are confident this feature will make managing your bank accounts on Dhan much easier and more flexible. But we are not stopping here! While this feature is currently available only on our Mobile App, it will soon be rolled out on the Web platform as well.

We have taken a note of the issue that you have been facing. This seems to arise from a minor bug on our backend which is being fixed at the moment and we will be resolving this issue for you as soon as it is fixed.

What is the purpose of charging fees on changing the Primary Bank account?

Bank deletion in progress takes more time to proceed, from yesterday my account not deleted from app

Please provide same option for Dhan Web too.

I like using Desktop and big screen. Logging into mobile and Dhan App is not what everyone prefers.

We can see dhan wifi not available colours tag not available price max are not available bank add delete not available and new UI also not come for option trader app all things are for only dhan app ? @PravinJ @Hardik @RahulDeshpande @Poornima

A major update to Options Trader app is expected in early next year, lots of things coming @BIR there as well.

Everyone want an update for new feature etc (even I want update)

Even somebody gets updated in there Life.

Please make sure that client also get updated in Dhan account easily.

Please bring updating of address with kyc, like other broker do. Take charges for updating address or anything (mobile number, email etc).

Make it simple sir. Don’t make updating address offline sir. If some mistakes happen again have send copy.

Might be I am wrong or expecting more. Make life simple.

Still I am facing some issue.
While adding new bank account, I can add via UPI no issues
But while adding via manual details entry, the same error comes “bank account deletion in progress”

Also tried deleting other accounts, there also this same error comes. Please resolve it soon.
