Yes, the adoption rates on iPad were very low and we kind of pushed this ahead every now and then. That’s not true today - while on percentage terms users on iPad for Dhan are low, on absolute terms it is a sizeable number now with over 35,000+ users now connecting to Dhan via iPad every month!

We couldn’t ignore this any longer. So, we went back to where we always start - building the best possible experience, from the ground up for Apple iPad.

Some features get asked for once and forgotten. This one never went quiet. Back in February 2022, @reetima opened a thread with a simple question: is there an iPad app in the making? She wanted to buy and analyse on a bigger screen, and the mobile app just was not built for it. That thread did not fade away. Over the next four years, more and more of you found your way to it, and to a dozen others like it, asking the same thing in your own words.

No one carried it further than @nitishbangera, who raised it again and again over the last year and pushed us to do it properly rather than just stretch the phone app to fit a tablet. You held us to a higher bar, and you were right to.

And it was never only a few voices. @Karthik, @Chiru, @Trader_Rdx, @AnuYadav and @varad_mulye each came back more than once, across different years. Threads like Optimised app for iPad needed, iPad user interface issue and the 2023 UI and UX wishlist became gathering points for everyone who traded on a tablet and wanted Dhan to feel at home there.

We will be honest with you. For a long time the iPad numbers looked small to us, and I kept moving this as a priority down the list. In hindsight, I feel that we made you wait longer than we should have. What finally changed our minds was not a chart. It was you, returning to these threads, reminding us that a real and growing group of traders had made the iPad their main screen.

So we did what we always try to do. We went back to the start and built it for the iPad, for the larger canvas, with more room to see your charts, your positions and your watchlists when the market is moving.
