On Dhan Charts, we have seen how much time traders spend on analysing indices, its movements using all the different indicators that we have built over time. And this is where we even introduced Index Scalper - an easy way to scalp options from the Index Charts itself.
One of the limitations while studying indices has been the absence of volume data - which is inherently not present given indices itself is not tradeable and thus does not have any trading volume data. This also resulted in popular indicators like VWAP could not be applied on index charts - limiting the analysis of indices. So today, we are introducing this data point on Index Charts to ensure you are able to do complete analysis.
You need not to do anything different to apply volumes on index charts. Simply, select the “Volume” as a technical indicator, and you are good to go.
We had a long discussion on this community on multiple threads - where we spent time discussing what is the best way to get the volume data for Indices. This is where we have decided to have Index Volume as the sum total of all of its constituents traded volume.
There are two parts to this data - one is the historical volume data for all indices and second is the live streaming. We have added both on Dhan Charts and ensured that historical data is backfilled for you to do your analysis seamlessly. We have added volume data for all indices on NSE & BSE - to ensure you can do your analysis on all 200 indices available on Dhan Charts.
