Option chain on dhan

Hi @Naman @PravinJ @Dhan, with today’s app update, I felt happy and at the same time, sad.
Happy because I had shared a feedback to provide an option to add multiple scrips at once directly to the watchlist & basket during our Chennai meet and I can see it in live today. Thanks for that.

Extremely sad because you shifted your option chain figures display to percentage terms rather than absolute terms with this new app version. The main reason I love to use dhan w.r.t trading was that most of the brokers show % LTP change in the option chain but dhan shown the absolute change which I loved it. But now, even in full calls/puts view also, you are showing % LTP change rather than absolute change. Extremely disappointed with this. Now I need to find out another broker who shows absolute LTP change in the option chain.

Hi @sri1647 Srikanth, we will evaluate this. As a platform we keep making updates to understand what we can do to make things further simpler, ofcourse some users like them instantly and some take time to get used to it.

Hi @Dhan, thanks for your reply sir. If a trader is used to some feature on the platform and if you suddenly change it, then he will start disliking the entire platform if he doesnt like the new update.

As a small feedback what you can do is that, you can have a public poll on your social pages whenever you are planning to update an existing thing like the current change of absolute to percentage LTP change. So that everyone knows what the majority wants.

  1. In my present case, you could have retained LTP absolute change figures atleast in the detailed call/puts view but you shifted everything to percentage. Requesting you to retain atleast in the web platform in the detailed option chain view.

  2. Also, when will this feature - add multiple scrips to watchlist or basket. be available on web platform?

  3. Also, as we have outperformers and underperformers for indices, kindly introduce index contributors/ movers meaning how much they are contributing to the index rise/fall, both scrip wise and sector wise.

  4. Currently, the outperformers & underperformers are visible in a pre-defined order (logic unknown) by your team without any option to sort it. Kindly provide an option to sort them alphabetically, change wise, change% wise etc.,

Any reply @Dhan

Hi @sri1647, thanks for your detailed feedback! We understand that sudden changes to familiar features can impact the user experience. Your suggestion to conduct public polls before major updates is great, and we’ll share it with our team.

Regarding LTP absolute change, we’ll review the possibility of retaining it in the detailed option chain view on the web platform. The “add multiple scrips to watchlist or basket” feature is in progress, and we’ll update you once it’s available.

We also appreciate your idea of index contributors/movers and adding sorting options for outperformers & underperformers. We’ve shared this with our product team for consideration.

Not sure what is the use of such feedbacks as hardly they will come to live. My sincere request to @Dhan @PravinJ is that in quest of bringing frequent updates, don’t spoil the existing features which are liked by many. This transition of absolute change to percentage change shattered my experience with you.

A small suggestion going forward is that in these cases if you want to improve anything, bring it as a user choice through settings option so that you can fulfill both the needs.

Hi - No able to see this basket order feature on option chain in my app. Is it not yet released for all the users please? @Dhan @PravinJ @Naman

Hi @PravinJ - This update looks good. Allowing traders to create basket directly from the option chain.:+1::pray:

One suggestion:

This is our current workflow:

  1. Select scripts from option chain
  2. Add to basket
  3. Exit option chain
  4. Visit basket
  5. Edit quantity or execute

We need this workflow:

  1. Select scripts from option chain
  2. Add to basket (or a virtual basket)
  3. Edit quantity on the same virtual basket page
  4. Execute from same virtual basket page

The current approach is taking too much time to execute orders. Please make order execution smooth and without too much going back and forth within the Dhan app. @Dhan @Mohseen_Usmani @Naman

I guess your expectation is already there in dhan. As soon as, you select the scrips and click on basket, it will show the list of available baskets and once you select the basket, the edit window will open. No need to exit option chain manually.

@Dhan , i observed one extra step here when compared to kotak neo. Kotak neo app won’t ask for the basket to choose. As sson as we select scrips and click on basket, it will redirect to the edit window.

Yes, but not able to execute that basket from that same window. Need to close basket. Close option chain. Go to basket and then execute. To much in-app travel.

Yes its true

Maintaining a toggle switch on the app would be really handy as mentioned by @sri1647

It’s one of the USP of using dhan

The absolute figures instead of percentages

Kindly look into it

Thanks

Hi @OneCrazySpud Welcome To MadeForTrade community!

Yes, a toggle to switch between absolute and percentage change would be a great solution, and our team will assess the feasibility of implementing this.

@pratik01 @sri1647 At Dhan, we constantly strive to enhance the user experience, with speed being a key focus. We truly appreciate your suggestions and have shared them with our product team for evaluation. We’ll keep working on improving the platform, and you can expect these enhancements in future updates.

Thanks for your valuable feedback!

As suggested, introduce public polls before bringing any change in existing feature to avoid re-work.

Dhan us famous for in app navigation. It has always been very confusing navigation. They keep adding new features however never have focused on reducing in app clutter .

Correct. The main Dhan app is too much cluttered. I use only Options Traders app by Dhan. Although this too has multiple cluttered features but far less than the main Dhan app.

My dream app is just an app with list of all index option chains on the home page and of course with current top-notch order execution Dhan has. I don’t need any more features.

Hi @pratik01 Yes, however unfortunately what works for one user does not work for all. However we help users to get close to their expected experience as much as possible.

You can get to your shortcuts on the Options home page and / or via the F&O watchlist. For simplicity, Dhan also allows you to add shortcuts to Option Chat directly in your watchlist.
