PnL numbers on Chart

Dear @PravinJ
Recent features are great, a big thankyou.

Also request you to pls get this done.
Below is the screenshot for one of your competitor who has implemented PnL numbers on chart.
This helps the intraday option traders looking at the live PnL without any additional clicks or compromising screen space or leaving the chart.

Already present in dhan currently i don’t have any open positions so this screenshot is from instagram.

Go to settings > trading > select profit/loss > shows up on charts

I am talking about dhan web or dhan.tv specifically.

Some one pls share a screenshot for the same.

Hi @RajeshK, this is available on Dhan’s TV console from the beginning.

Thank you for your reply @PravinJ

This is not in/on chart P&L, it requires a pushup panel which uses precious vertical screen space.
Pls see my comparative screenshot.

I have also conveyed this feedback in my previously posted thread, but that gone unnoticed for some reason.
I hope you will do something about it.

My previously posted thread link: Intraday P&L and Orders

Hi @RajeshK

@RajeshK Pushing P&L on people’s face by default isn’t a good choice. People like me focus on the execution and see the P&L at EOD. Displaying P&L at all times without any option to hide, would mess with my psychology. I trade and focus ONLY on POSITION SIZING and % GAINS.

@PravinJ I find the current P&L logic where a user can choose to see or hide the P&L is a far better option. Please don’t mess with that. Thanks.

Subject of this thread could be “Choices are good”

@Saptarshi you are talking about single order profit and loss, I am here talking about Intraday P&L as a whole.
Try punching 20 orders a day with all different strike prices.

@thisisbanerjee Choices are a good thing. everyone should have a choice in life or otherwise.
Also agree with you that choosing a choice should also be a choice  .
For your thing of not showing P&L on face. There is a simple solution, just give a dropdown button - (Enable Live P&L/ Disable Live P&L) See screenshot below.

Infect Dhan already have this lovely feature Live P&L on your face via a floating window. But somehow they mange to cripple the usability, and you cant show it on chart window.
But they have given the (x) button so again you have a choice to not see it. (Good Job @Dhan ) See screenshot below.

So Choices are a good thing.

Hence I want Dhan to expand the choices and not limit it, so I propose to @PravinJ that extend the choice of something lovely they already have.
See screenshot below.

@thisisbanerjee Please don’t suggest to contain the choices man, choices are good.
By going with your logic.
We should go back on Bullock carts as accidents happen or cars.
Choice of trading in options should be banned as too many users are loosing (SEBI already tried this and it was a bad move)

@RajeshK You already have an option to see total p&l in the window below.

Not showing live P&L isn’t a bullock cart and showing live P&L isn’t a car. Don’t know how did you even come up with this hilarious analogy.

@thisisbanerjee Yes the analogy is correct.
Choices are good, but you are suggesting to contain the choices.
Which I oppose.

Regarding the live P&L on chart itself. The whole idea of TFC (Trade From Chart) is based on that only.

If your trading method is not liking to see the live P&L then turn it off. But don’t ask me to do it, my trading method requires to see all the time live moving P&L and I would be happy if I could be able to see it.

Sliding up to see a P&L require additional click and I loose precious vertical pixels ( screen space) which I don’t want to loose.

I never asked you to do anything. I only posted what my style is and what would I prefer. If you don’t like my post, kindly ignore it instead of mocking it with bullock cart analogy. Hope you have a great day.

@thisisbanerjee My intention was not mocking your post. If you felt that way, pls accept my sincere apologies.

Regarding my analogy, it is kind of flourish metaphor where I want to convey that please do not stall a development or progress of new things because it has certain pros or cons attached to it.
Every development has its pros and cons but that doesn’t mean we stop progress.

Please do not take it otherwise, take it in a healthy debate spirit. That’s why these forums are created. To discuss the diverse views and take the best out of it.

Have a great day.
