Request to Improve Fast Withdrawal

Today I initiated a withdrawal from my Dhan account today, but the process is slower than expected. In contrast, Zerodha’s fast withdrawal typically completes within 10 minutes but in dhan i can do fast withdrawal 80% of my money request to remove this cap.Given that five IPOs are closing today, I urgently need the full amount to place my bids. If the withdrawal is delayed, I might miss these investment opportunities.
Kindly process it as soon as possible i need it urgently.

@PravinJ sir kindly remove 80% cap for fast withdrawal

Hi @Saptarshi @Thisisme - the limits are there only to protect downside risks for broking platforms resulting because of active trading positions or unsettled positions. Similarly for funds pay-in, we need to sight the money in our bank account before we enable it for withdrawals.

If you have clear balance (no positions) then the amounts that are available for fast withdrawals are higher.

Dhan was the first broker to introduce Fast Withdrawals back in May 2022, and we also understand that many large brokers are now catching up on this after nearly 2.5 years. That said, we continue to assess Fast Withdrawals from time to time, and it continues to be seamless as it can be.

If there is more we can do, we will definitely bring this up!

@PravinJ

Hi @MasterGk,

We do provide complete step tracking for IPOs. Could you let us know which specific steps you’re referring to so we can check them?

Additionally, the subscription data is updated accurately on our end. If you’ve noticed any discrepancies, please let us know so we can address them.

On a related note, we’re currently working on revamping the IPO section to enhance your experience.

Subscription data is not updated with real time 30 min delay between groww & dhan.
Current time 13:13 pm

Ok now I known you reduce subscription data time to 30mintues which good.
But in ipo section in dhan need complete revamp because in upcoming ipo tab also not great no information available regarding filed RHP OR COMPANY PNL AND MORE SUCH INFORMATION.
ALSO THE UPI ID NOT SAVED IF IT SAVED NEXT IT MORE EASIER TO APPLY.
AND CONFORMATION TAB REQUIRED WHILE APPLYING IPO.
@sheetal @MahimaShah

Hi @MasterGk

Thank you for the feedback.

As mentioned earlier, we are in the process of revamping the IPO section to provide you with a better experience.

Hi @MahimaShah Yes, I observed this in my family accounts. The UPI ID doesn’t remain saved. Please take this as a feedback. Thanks!

Hi @thisisbanerjee @MasterGk

Yes, we’ve identified and will fix it soon.

In the meantime, you can go to the Funds screen > UPI > Enter your UPI ID and complete a fund transfer. This will save your UPI ID even on IPO screen, so you won’t need to enter it again next time.

@Saptarshi Just curious, how can you not get the 80% fast withdrawal almost instantly? Every time I do fast withdrawals, it hits my account in <10 minutes on an average.

I also placed many time fast withdrawal but didn’t get in 10 minutes, always process next day

I placed full withdrawal because i need that money for ipo. That’s why i request to remove 80% cap, but full withdrawal comes around 2pm same day.

@PravinJ Today, I noticed something interesting on Groww: they’ve started offering fast withdrawals but the catch is that withdrawals only begin after 10 AM, but that’s fine, as I received my full amount in my bank within a minute. If Dhan also implemented this, it would simplify the process. In Dhan, if I close a position today, I can initiate the full withdrawal the next morning, and I always receive the money by 2 PM that day which is appreciated but estimatedtime is 11:30pm. However, if Dhan started processing withdrawals after 10 AM after checking all position and credited the full amount instantly to the bank, it would be even more helpful. With multiple IPOs coming at the same time, having
access to funds quickly is crucial for placing bids on all of them.

Groww has nothing interesting to offer for traders. Have a look at their so-called “Groww Terminal”. Not even basic amenities are there.

That’s why i switch to dhan

Hi @Saptarshi You are comparing two different use-cases. IPOs - the mandates are triggered by the exchanges, not the brokers.

On Fast Withdrawals, Dhan was the first to start this in May 2022 - more than 2.5 years before everyone else. Happy that this is becoming an industry standard. On Dhan, if an withdrawal is made - when it is fast one the time taken is between 5 to 15 mins. If not, it is processed via NEFT for which we run multiple batches through the day.

This thing are decided by dhan not by client the withdrawal go in fast mode our by NEFT you must give specific option where trader select by them self the withdrawal go for instant withdrawal our I want in NEFT @PravinJ ya it is pride for dhan that they start the fast withdrawal and become industry standards but slow you going back and all other broker are going one step ahead in instant withdrawal now don’t say only dhan check open position margin and etc to process withdrawal, all broker also check all this thing then they are providing then why dhan going back ?

Thank you @PravinJ for the reply. What I am trying to say is that if Dhan processes funds quickly, it will allow users to place a maximum number of bids.

I also agree that Dhan was the first to introduce fast withdrawals in the industry, and this is a commendable achievement. Currently, fast withdrawals are available between 9 AM to 4 PM.

However, as you mentioned , there were some challenges with removing the 80% cap on fast withdrawals.

My suggestion is that if Dhan could shift the fast withdrawal window to 9 AM to 10 AM and during this one-hour window, the system could check for any open positions or negative balances in accounts, and if everything is clear in account, process the full funds instantly. This would ensure faster access to funds and maximize bidding opportunities.

You aren’t fully comprehending the 80% fast withdrawal feature. All the other brokerages offer 100% instant withdrawals, IF THERE ARE NO OPEN POSITIONS AND ORDERS.

On Dhan, even if you have an open position or order and still your cash balance is more than that, upto 80% of that free cash can be withdrawn. Flexible and yet an undefeated industry benchmark.

Funds received within 30 seconds and 5 minutes make no difference to 99.9999% end users.

On normal days, other brokerages may payout instantly but on Dhan funds will be paid out 100% through NEFT within 2-3 hours because of multiple tranches of settlement. Normal payouts on other brokerages (except AngelOne and Dhan) only happens once or twice a day.
