Why there is no research recommendations on dhan, whereas most of the apps do have?
Dhan has taken a customer-centric approach where they will be acting purely like a broker focussed fully on acting as a mediator between customer and exchange.
So, I don’t think they have a plan to venture into research reports and recommendations and all, at least in near future.
Hi
Don’t you believe that Recommendations do increase customer base and add utility to the app in this competitive market??? Though it is not mandatory, yet you may . consider it in customer interest. Explore the possibility.
Making money from the market has other angles than a buy price, target price and a stop loss price. This is the reason why the capsule approach doesn’t really work for most people.
Discount broker don’t provide recommendations.
Hi @Kondaveedu We do things that we understand - product, technology and customer experience; we have done this for years before and are pushing ourselves do more on these fronts.
Tomorrow even if we start start doing research recommendations, I doubt if anyone will take us seriously. It’s not our expertise, we never had that experience and we simply won’t like to pretend what we are not.
In future this may change, we may get a team of experienced folks to do this. But for now, we are good in our zone. There is lot more we have to do on Dhan, so we are busy with building that.
They do! But then that clashes broker’s interests with customers’ interest. Broker would like his customers’ do trade more and more based on his recommendations and that would be irrespective of profit/loss or accountability on broker’s part. Whereas, in the model currently operated by Dhan (and most discount brokers), it is customer’s discretion to trade or not.
Moreover, the costs of keeping research analysts don’t justify the pricing part also. Most discount brokers don’t give stock recommendations for remaining competitive pricing-wise. (Some smaller ones have started though for getting traction in this highly competitive market).
I am not mincing my words here. Selling research recommendations are the shittiest business that there is.
I have had been following major brokerage reports on multiple businesses and 9/10 times they were wrong.
If you think, they have solved the market, they don’t know anything better than an average human, all they do is type generic jackshit in a fancy manner with some graphs.
If you throw darts, closing your eyes, you will probably make more money than them. If they really knew anything about the markets, they would not be working for somebody else.
