Can’t see TOTP in dhan app.

Used 3rd app called Google authenticator.

Dhan don’t have native TOTP like Z.

You can login via OTP as well, with the option given below the TOTP option.

Oh! From when did Dhan start supporting TOTP?

I wanted this feature so much! But earlier Dhan team was against it. Good to see it being implemented.

How do I enable it?

Hi @amish Yes! TOTP is now live — it went live on 22nd September 2025.

To enable it :

  1. Go to Dhan Web > DhanHQ Trading APIs section
  2. Select Setup TOTP
  3. Confirm with OTP on mobile/email
  4. Scan the QR via an Authenticator app or enter the code shown into the Authenticator
  5. Confirm by entering the first TOTP

Once this is is setup, you will by default see TOTP as an option while logging into any partner platforms or inside the API key based authentication mode.

I enabled this and logged out of Dhan web.

But after giving mobile number it still asked for Mobile / Email OTP.

Instead of asking for TOTP.

Does it not work for Dhan web yet?

Hi @amish TOTP is enabled only for DhanHQ - for APIs and Partner platforms.

Further when trying to activate TOTP it says that OTP is sent to mobile and email.

But OTP does not come to Email at all. Few of my family accounts have inactive mobile numbers. As OTP does not come to email, I am not able to activate TOTP.

Please check. Thank you.

Could you please enable TOTP for Dhan Web login as well. I don’t use APIs but would like to use TOTP for normal login.

Hii @amish ,thank you for letting us know!

At the moment, the TOTP is sent only to your registered mobile number. We’re working on optimizing this, so soon you’ll also be able to receive the TOTP via email.

How to add the TOTP app ? I never received any notification and suddenly this login UI is showing option for TOTP.
