Hi @Santosh.C
At Dhan, the futures chart for Nifty 50 is continuous for daily and longer timeframes.
Currently, the active futures contracts for Nifty 50 are for July, August, and September. These are referred to as the near month, next month, and far month, respectively. When you open the NIFTY JUL FUT chart on daily and above timeframes, you’ll see a continuous chart of all near month futures (same as NIFTY 1!). Similarly, if you open the NIFTY AUG FUT daily chart, you’ll see a continuous chart of all next month futures (same as NIFTY 2!), and for NIFTY SEP FUT, you’ll see a continuous chart of all far month contracts (same as NIFTY 3!). When August Futures become the near month, opening NIFTY AUG FUT will show you a continuous chart of all the near month futures of Nifty.
Charts for your reference, with Open Interest in the bottom pane.
I hope this explanation clarifies things for you.
Hi Naman,
Thank you for your response.
The meaning of continuous chart is not only for that respective month. However, if continuous chart is referred one can access complete back history on chart for that Index or Stock (e.g. Since year 2008)
Trading View has that feature, one need to select “Continuous Future Chart” for Index or Option.
Since Dhan uses TV, is it possible for your to have this feature? What you have shown is only for 5 years history.
Its inconvinient for trader to keep jumping from one charting SW to other charting SW.
Looking forward to hear from you.
Best Regards
Santosh
