VWAP on All Indices on Dhan - like Tradingview

Hi All,

TV used to have Volume on Nifty & Bank Indices, thus VWAP was available.

Now, they have started Volume (& thus VWAP) for Almost All NSE Indices.

Wish

  • Dhan Implements it OR
  • Gives Option to place Dhan’s order types in TV login

Hi @vinbhat Yes noted, we have this in the works. Expect to ship it in coming days.

However, we continue to mention this that underlying index is not tradable, user insights based on this with caution.

Hi @mnikhil We have given up our stand many times, nothing about being ridiculed. I have also mentioned this here that the index is not tradable, so use these insights with general caution.

I feel VWAP should only be in Index Futures because what I have seen is VWAP is basically used to scalp in a shorter timeframe and in scalping it’s usually Option Buying. Now if you were to see the Index Future price and the delta of the options, it’s usually in sync i.e. a 50 delta is closer to the Future price compared to the spot. Hence in my opinion VWAP on Spot doesn’t really make sense for an Index and just because other brokers are adding it won’t be the right thing unless there is a genuine scenario which I would really like to understand and hence request the community members who are looking forward to VWAP on an Index’s spot to explain.

@pravinj

index not tradeable does not mean that index volume cannot be made available – if that is were true, yfinance or nse or even tradingview would not provide volume for different NSE indices on their data feeds.

@PravinJ sir dhan should provide futures continous charts for intraday timeframes, other brokers are providing it too. It is much beneficial for serious traders who backtest a lot.
