When to pay trading expense? (STT, Turnover tax etc.)

So yesterday I did some trade of 5L. (Delivery)

I had 5L in funds. And used all funds.

After the contract note was generated, it showed me negative funds of about -400 Rs.

This was because of STT and other charges which were over and above the funds I had.

So my question is when am I supposed to pay that extra 400Rs?

Immediately or I can pay after month end or week end OR when I place next order?

Will I be charged any interest or penalty if I pay late?

Please clarify

Thank you.

Hi @amish

It seems you have traded in a different account. Please check once and drop us an email at help@dhan.co from that registered email ID so we can look into this.

Just to add, the DPC interest will be applicable on a negative balance and also the ageing debit square-off as stated in our Risk policy.

Yes it was from different (family) account.

I will clear negative balance today.

But I wonder why DHAN does not consider standard charges when I delivery order is placed. And allow me to place order considering order value + standard charges.

i.e. funds available should be greater than order value + standard charges that apply if order is successful.

That way my account will not go negative.

There seems to be minor rounding bug in your system UI.

I had to pay 446.17Rs and I paid exactly same amount. i.e. I paid exact 446.17Rs. So balance should be now ZERO.

But when I go to Money tab, it shows that I paid 446Rs and 17 paise is still pending.

But at the same time, when I check my ledger, it shows payment as 446.17 correctly and showing balance as ZERO.

Anyway, just reporting bug. My original query stands resolved.
