Why I am being asked for OTPs during account switch?

I help trade my relatives account from my mobile and web browser, I use mobile scan to login into web browser without any issues till last week. I never had issues switching account in mobile but I am now being asked for OTP between every switch. Is this a tempoary glitch/issue or its a new normal?

This has created unnecessarily friction in acc switch. UI says - Seamlessly manage upto 5 accounts!

Now switching to just single account is big trouble. Not everyone is at desktop and not at all the time. Kindly consider to rollback this @PravinJ Sir.

@Skc I don’t remember I have seen any where dhan promoted this feature as “seamless” . if they did they should with draw it. now Its just useless but also time wasting. I am sure they should be not happy spending time and money creating such useless feature.

Password + TOTP is the best, just like Zerodha/Kite.

Password/OTP + PIN is a total time waste and many people now can’t manage friends’/family accounts.

I already reported this as a issue earlier and i got the following response

Don’t know how and why Switch accounts is working fine with Angel One app.

Fortunately I only had 3 accounts and now I directly login to 3 different phones, that works better than switch account feature.

Check the app UI while you switch account, it’s clearly mentioned there. Added ss here

Yeah, it can be changed it to “Uselessly” or its already done in practice.

2FA (two-factor authentication) is mandatory every time you switch to a new account, as per exchange guidelines. It includes a possession factor, such as an OTP sent to your device, and a knowledge factor, such as your PIN.

Dhan is just making the platform unusable with unnecessary changes. “Seamless”? lol. What’s the point of having a switch feature now if I have to enter an OTP each time?

7-8 months back, I transferred shares from Groww to Dhan. Now I am rolling back soon.

Completely useless application!!!

Would love broker suggestions that support the switch account feature ‘seamlessly’.

I made the second account as primary in DHAN. Now it logs in with Face ID + PIN. My personal account is now set as secondary, and I can enter OTP whenever needed. This might be a temporary fix, but I don’t know how it is solving the “guidelines” issue. @encore
