Why we can not buy MF through Dhan Web?

Why we can not buy MF through Dhan Web? It sounds ridiculous that something can be done on App but not on WEB.
Dont give answer that it will be done in future (In long term everyone is dead). Some realistic timeline for having full fledged MF functionality available on Dhan Web will be helpful.
BTW, your Dhan APP is even worse. Tried MF purchase several times only to get the error message that “receiver bank account is busy”.

Hi @mkbhaiji apologies for the inconvenience you are facing. Could you please share a preferred time for us to connect and better understand this issue? You can send a DM with your contact details.

Dhan launched their first iteration of the MF platform at a fast pace, due to user demand. It is still a relatively new platform of about 3 years.

Demat MFs/Pledge are coming soon. Eventually my sense is that, in the long term everything will be addressed.

Haven’t known a platform who has Demat MFs and the MF functionality is not available on web. Let’s hope for the best. :crossed_fingers:t2:

I was looking to consolidate all my MF holdings (few CRs) in Dhan, pledge these and use margin to trade. However, seeing the overall technical capabilities in Dhan, it looks like Dhan is still miles to go and catch up Zerodha and others.
I would rather go back to use Zerodha for the time being, till Dhan matures.

I am a beta tester of MTF at Zerodha for a few weeks, the platform is far less than what is considered matured. I have had provided very specific inputs on the TradingQ&A forum about all the drawbacks. You can check their answers out, they aren’t willing to upgrade. Who provides delayed feed in Holdings section these days?

If you are looking for MF pledge and trading, I can suggest AngelOne or else wait for Dhan. Zerodha has some outdated platform stuff but the people at Zerodha are very friendly and their policies are very very simple and transparent. They have really earned their goodwill.

Dhan is useless broker it doesn’t have mutual fund pledging feature its just a dabba broker

 Not exactly dabba. New brokerage. Here’s the latest update.

I talked to Dhan customer service team long back and got the same standard reply, “These features will be coming soon” … After almost a year, status is still same. Let me go back to Zerodha and Angel … I have both accounts.
I thought Dhan is better, found that it is just another broker … Big promise, no differentiating feature in anyway … UI is not simple.

the same is with me if this feature will not pop up by the March 2025 I have to leave dhan, I joined dhan in March 2024 if I had with Zerodha I will get enormous return in mutual fund but here no facility of MF pledge

Worst experience

Hi @peeruverma09

We’re making investing simpler and more seamless! First up, we’re launching the UPI mandate in the coming weeks to streamline your SIP payments. Right after that, Demat Mutual Funds will follow, empowering you to manage Mutual Funds in both Demat and SOA modes. No more waiting.

So, users will be given an option to chose the format of MF they want. Great, as no other broker provides this. Helps, in case of instant redemption of liquid funds too.

With the heavy heart i just switched from Dhan to Zerodha after almost one year of journey.

as a trader for margin mutual fund is best because price fluctuation is not visible on screen shares and ETF’s for pledging is not my cup of tea because price fluctuation gives me immense tension.

Dear Dhan team,
Thanks for the support i have learned many new things with you

@peeruverma09 Stick 2 months more. :stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes: Even I am waiting for MF pledge.

@Saurav.P How far are we from the MF’s in demat form?
The wait is just getting longer and if it’s less than a month, would like to stop investing with some other broker for the time being.
