Layout Error Exceed 5 MB

I have been facing Layout Error problem in the Tradingview Chart since 14.08.2024 evening. Layout size exceed 5mb every time mark any rectangle on the tradingview chart. I have been using dhan for almost 1.5 years and did my research on almost 400 chart. never faced such issue, even I have used so many rectangles & other drawings in many charts. but since yesterday I can’t mark 2-3 rectangles.

attached herewith screen shot where used only 3 drawings but charts can’t be save. please do the needfull urgnetly.

As of now, you have to create a new layout to save your drawings. What you can do is to either create a new layout or create a copy of the current layout.

This should solve your problem.

Did you create it through settings–>create layout?

No I created the layout by make a copy option… Now created new layout from setting and it is working. Thanks for the help.

Dear Shally,
the new problem is that analysis done on all 400 charts. all working disapear in the new layout but available on previous layout, also can’t save the new changes in the chart in the previous layout. please help.

Don’t think that is possible. Maybe someone from @Dhan team can tell better.

It is a genuine problem. Don’t know when Dhan will fix it. At least 10 mb layout should be provided.

Hi @Mahavir,

This error happens only when the layout data surpasses the 5 MB limit, which includes all the drawings and indicators applied to scripts saved in a particular layout. Further, you can create a new layout using the Settings button on the top panel.

It’s too much irritating with this error - Layout Error Layout Size Exceed 5MB limit. Failed to save layout.
Support gave useless, unprofessional answers. Why we remove drawings, indicator? We work on the stock. We do study and then added the drawings, support/resistance, Added alerts. I am also use multi layout. like 3-4 layout setup.
Please answer my questions -
=> Do I again and again draw the drawing if Layout error come?
=> We pay you 20/- brokrage on each transition. Do you too poor to exceed the limit of file size and your server space?
=> Do you give unlimited layout size space in future? If NO, I think most of trader will shift to other plateforms.

Only 5 MB
The Dhan Team lives in era of Floppy Disk time.

If you call this floppy disk, then most other large brokerages don’t even have a cloud save option and one who does, doesn’t have multiple layouts save feature, and if someone does that is just 2 MB.

Dhan’s 5MB standards are by far still the benchmark.

I have used all the top 20 brokerages and I say this out of experience.

But this is not sufficient to save the study, entry exit, and other planning on the stock. I add the monthly, weekly, daily and 1hr candle’s high low, draw support resistance, 3 moving averages, 2 indicator.
I use 3 layout to check the stock movements. It’s not save the layout.
@thisisbanerjee Please mention the broker who give only 2MB
