Mentioned below few pointers which are Must Have for Mutual Fund Apps. Could you please share your thoughts on the same and whether they are in product backlog / pipeline ?
Enclosed below are few points worth considering:
Investing Type: Ability to choose between Demat vs SOA while investing.
Features related to SOA type MF : Features like STP, SWP, SWITCH Funds.
SIP Frequency - Introduction of Daily SIP (Nice to have)
Mutual Fund - Web Version
I saw a similar post regarding SWP request, which i think is under consideration, however, STP & Switch Funds are equally important. What do you suggest ?
Another, query - is it possible to have a feature like - Capital appreciation SWP (Quarterly / Half yearly) feature along with normal SWP. Hope I am making sense. i.e X+Y (Where x is the capital and Y is the profit earned), then only Y will be automatically redeemed via SWP (Quarterly / Half yearly).
I think this feature not available in any app so far, but only one or few mutual fund house offer this service directly or via MF central (I guess, not sure).
Hi @nibeditadas Thanks for your feedback, we will evaluate this as we build our Mutual Funds product. We are still in our early days and making the experience better.
This isnt provided by any platform, most either go via Demat or via SOA.
We will be evaluating these in coming days.
Yes, we have monthly and weekly as of now
We are considering this for portfolio, Web versions for Mutual Fund have very very less demand. Today over > 99% MF investments across platforms happen via apps.
Hope this helps. There is always something on at Dhan to improve the investing experience, lots is planned for Mutual Funds too.
@PravinJ Web version should be enabled, at least buy and sell if not much features. Untill you don’t enable, we won’t be able to know to usages of the web as now we have only Mobile options and everyone is forced to use MF via Mobile only.
I echo with @nx.vijay. Not sure why the demand is low for this in Dhan community, but when I talk most of the people in my circle, most are with the opinion that a Web Platform is more comfortable than doing things over mobile apps. If that wouldn’t be the case, other platforms like Zerodha and Groww would have also sticked to mobile apps.
We should re-think on this I believe, whether it is really low demand or is it something that’s forced the users to stick to app version of mutual funds
I am not sure may be you have information but 99% investment in MF can’t be on mobile. Each major player, including AMC, MF Central, Zerodha, and Indmoney, has a web version. I will never like to put in a few lakhs of net banking payment through mobile, as the glitch in net or any other app may cause issues. Flipkart tried to go app only and failed, none other major platform is app-only for MF so for sure 99% don’t happen though APP. You may still decide not to have a web version, but please state facts you can prove or back up.
Not sure if @PravinJ statement “> 99% MF investments across platforms happen via apps” is based on fact or is just wildly anecdotal and raw emotion
Best of luck. That is why it moved from paper to demat; something was not right, or it helps somehow, the way it started. we need to move with the times, I just tried doing MF it kept saying UPI is down if you want can send screen shot, i will never typr a 15 didgit PW on moblie to do net banking payment… Anyways, it seems you have made up your mind and don’t wish to listen to the users
