Mutual Funds for HUFs - Now Live on Dhan

Hello Traders & Investor :waving_hand:,
When we built Dhan, our goal was clear: make investing in India truly digital, transparent, and accessible for everyone.

In June ’25, we changed that by being the first one to make a fully Digital HUF Demat Accounts, letting families open an HUF account online in minutes - no paperwork, no couriers, no delays. Thousands adopted it immediately.

Today, we’re completing that journey.

HUFs can now invest in Mutual Funds on Dhan - fully digital, end-to-end, and completely paper-free.

For years, managing Mutual Funds for HUFs meant navigating:

  • Paperwork and courier runs

  • Repeated KYC cycles

  • long waiting periods

  • Unclear and fragmented experiences

Even after onboarding, the investing journey felt slow and confusing. It didn’t match how modern families operate today.

We believed this needed to change. And now, it has. Here’s what the new experience now looks like:

:trophy: Everything in one place

  • 40+ AMCs and all Direct Plans

  • SIPs, lumpsum, NFOs

  • A clean dashboard for all investment and returns

  • Margin Benefit for eligible schemes

:gear: Smart features designed for families

  • Support for both Demat and SOA format

  • Top-up Portfolio in one Tap

  • Daily, Weekly, and Monthly SIPs

  • One-tap Skip SIP

  • Transfer-to-Dhan for existing Demat MF holdings

A simple, modern experience - no paper, no branch visits, no back-and-forth.

A major upgrade in speed

We’ve brought the industry’s average TAT for HUF Mutual Fund activation from 5-7 days to under 24 hours - so families can start investing the same day.

Getting started is simple

If you already have an HUF Account on Dhan:
Update your Dhan app → open the Mutual Funds section → tap “Let’s go” → enter the OTP to activate.

If you’re new to Dhan: Complete your account setup by clicking here & you are ready for Mutual Funds

HUF Mutual Funds on Dhan isn’t just a new feature - it’s a better way for families to invest, grow, and build wealth together.

Thanks,
Saurav Parui

Great. Now please allow corporate accounts to access Mutual funds. Just need it in demat form. SOA not needed.

Great! Could you please share the updates regarding mutual fund web platform too? It will be helpful if you can share some ETA or tentative month/quarter of this release.

@Saurav.P pleaae Fastrack this process for corporate account also as mentioned by @t7support

Hi @t7support @Trivesh_Hans

Thanks for calling this out.
Corporate MF access is something we’re evaluating - it requires a different compliance + DP workflow, and we’re aligning those pieces first. We’ll update the community once we have firm timelines.

@ravi_krishna MF Web is in progress as well; we’ll share an ETA after our internal reviews are done.

If an entity has opened a corporate demat account no specific rule exists to my knowledge in buying, selling or holding mutual funds in the respective demat account. Many brokers provide this feature. I have been hearing this compliance thing for some time now whenever this request is placed. Can you please point me to any such regulation in this regard ?
