Stuck mutual funds in Dhan to be retransferred to NSDL sharekhan

I had requested Sharekhan to transfer my mutual funds (NSDL - demat format) to my Dhan account (cdsl). They had done the process. The mutual funds are now lying with Dhan.

The issue is -

  1. I have registered with CDSL easiest and can see those transferred mutual funds in my DHAN account. BUT when I login to DHAN, I cannot see those details. Where to get those details?

  2. If I want to sell those mutual funds, what is the way out, as I cannot see them in my DHAN account?

  3. If I want to transfer those mutual funds back to my Sharekhan demat NSDL account, what is the process?

I am not authorised person to respond. But let me share my understanding in your case.

  1. Dhan still doesn’t have demat mutual fund option on their platform, that’s why you are unable to see the transferred units in dhan portfolio. You need to wait for Dhan to launch MF in demat option.
  2. There are two ways - 1. that you again transfer the units back to Share Khan or other broker that natively supports demat MF. Zerodha and Angel One I know support demat MF directly. 2. Get information from Dhan team about rematerialisation of MF units. If rematerialisation can be done then the units will be converted to SoA format then sell directly via any mode.
  3. For that you need to get DIS booklet from Dhan and fill that to transfer to any other broker (NSDL). In case you wish to transfer units to CDSL broker (Angel One) then it can be done through CDSL easiest.

Someone from Dhan team may correct me if I am wrong. Also may offer you other options as well.
